Donald Trump expressed optimism Thursday that U.S. and Iran are not barreling toward a military conflict with one another.
Trump was awaiting the Swiss president when he made the comment, in response to a shouted question from a nearby reporter.
'I hope not,' he replied from the door of the West Wing as the motorcade of Swiss Confederation President Ueli Maurer arrived at the White House.

Appears as if someone wants Trump to be in a war in the middle east. Like that's obviously bad politically given recent US experience and disdain for any politician starting another war. Who benefits most from this? Sure the arms lobby. But Trump has to walk a fine line here and if a war is forced upon him - he has to limit it in terms of time, casualties - especially civilian - and monetary expense. Iran and Trump opponents want him to be in the exact opposite. .a conflict that goes easily well to the next election (2+years to ensure it's not winnable beforehand), lots of civilian casualties -babies,women etc- and lots of media exposure, which I'm sure cnn will gladly be the tool for. Financing can come from China ..weapons from Russia. ..and likely Kim will also be paid a few million to send of a bunch of rockets before the election to sway puplic opinion. The problem with Trump is that our opponents really really hate him and that they have partners in crime so to speak within our own borders. You just know don lemon will say anything to satisfy his hatred for this man. So will Clapper and Comey and all those people who have a real chance of seeing convictions this time. The Clintons, whose pay for play drop off in the millions is suspicious as f $ck,the fisa and surveillance scandal, the origins and pushing of the steele dossier. ..the next 1.5 years will be intense. China has literally trillions to lose if Trump remains in power. They cannot afford this or risk not being able to fulfil their 2025 goal of taking over the world within even this century, if it continues with him and Xi must know that he will be dethroned in that case for sure - he's already on shaky ground now and just 2 years ago was made emperor for life. Going downhill so quickly he must be interested in exploiting the situation with Iran..

WHO WANTS WAR WITH IRAN?
It could be a 'limited war' or small action; if Iran was to close the straights, we would have no option other than to open it up again. This is a different situation than Iraq, there will be no invasion. Also, one good knock from us and Iran will shut up for awhile, so I suspect they will be very careful not to start something. Minor pinches is all we should see from them.
I agree with you Mike but, there are always people in the military and government that want, live for, war for whatever purpose. Mostly it's money but for some it is pure glory and advancement within the ranks. Once it starts can it be reigned in and who will do that in the face of potential victory? Witness Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Korea for that matter.
