Venezuela's Guaido ‘Wants U.S. Military Support’ In Bid To Topple Maduro

Reuters: Venezuela's Guaido seeks U.S. Pentagon cooperation to solve political crisis

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido said on Saturday he has asked his envoy to the United States to meet with Pentagon officials to “cooperate” on a solution to the South American country’s political crisis.

Guaido, the leader of the opposition-controlled National Assembly, added he had received word from China that the country would join a diplomatic effort between European and Latin American countries, known as the International Contact Group on Venezuela, to negotiate an end to the crisis.

In January, Guaido invoked the OPEC nation’s constitution to assume an interim presidency, arguing President Nicolas Maduro’s 2018 re-election was illegitimate. He has been recognized by most Western and Latin American countries, but Maduro has retained the support of allies China, Russia and Cuba.

For the U.S. this would be a mistake. But for many in Venezuela these are desperate times, and desperate times mean desperate measures, including pleading for help to the U.S. and to Venezuela's neighbours who support the opposition.

It would be a mistake.

The Soviets and the Russians have deployed many 'active measures' against America in the press, academia, and other places. The Russians could easily have 200,000, 500,000, or maybe a million people in American streets protesting.

Venezuelans are being murdered by secret police supported by Russia, Cuba, Hezbollah, and Iran. But until there is more film, the media will sympathize a little, wring their hands a lot in later years and turn on conservatives, Republicans, America and Trump. That is the media will turn on any one not Left of center unless there is so much proof that 80% or 90% of the public turns against them and defends them. Then the press will get on board.

To be sure if there US does go in and there is a vote in Congress and it passes, Nancy Pelosi will demand a revote so she can climb aboard like she did in 2003. Nancy has morals like that, like a rat fink liberal.

Guaido needs list of people disappeared or murdered by the secret police. He needs film of soldiers shooting civilians. He need a lot of it, because liberals are a lot of IDC unless they lose public support. Then they will pretend they were the leaders the whole time.
