The Hill: Russia: Small nuclear reactor involved in explosion that killed five scientists
A small nuclear reactor was involved in the failed missile test last week that ended in an explosion killing five scientists, Bloomberg News reported Monday.
The institute they worked for is developing small-scale power sources that use “radioactive materials, including fissile and radioisotope materials” for the Defense Ministry and civilian uses, Vyacheslav Soloviev, scientific director of the institute, said on local TV, according to the news outlet.
The scientists were national heroes and the “elite of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center,” institute Director Valentin Kostyukov said in the video obtained by Bloomberg.

RIP
easy to make jokes about putin and his "forever flying rockets"..but let's not forget some brothers/sisters died in this accident. .Russian or not. This is so stupid. All these deaths because Russia and the US don't trust each other. Training accidents. "Car accidents",;people poisoned. Shot in the back. Then those several hundred Russian troops that got wiped when they attacked a US Base - and how quickly that disappeared from the news, remember? Deadliest encounter by numbers since end of cold war for sure and gone in news cycle in less than 2 days. Good but let's not forget all these guys who are just dead now. For what? Because our leaders cannot get their act together. For years. For decades. All this money spent. All this madness. It's insane. None of us wants any Russians to die, especially not if they're working on weapons we all shouldn't be have to point at each other anyway
Anon, you got it.
Maybe elect someone not from the KGB. We might trust you guys a lot more.
Someone new, 20 years? Come on.
Right on Dave Goldstein. Putin and his cronies are pretty much the same crew that ran the USSR through the years
reads like a Tom Clancy novel
