China's Global Times — the communist country's hawkish, belligerent state tabloid — has responded to the Pentagon's Friday announcement stating the US is looking to deploy intermediate range ballistic missiles to Asia "within months," warning "it will certainly trigger an intense arms race in the region."
Its editorial board, long understood as a mouthpiece of the state, has slammed remarks made by US Defense Secretary Mark Esper outlining the new mid-range ballistic missile deployment plans, crucially which came immediately on the heels of the formal collapse of the landmark US-Russia INF treaty, saying American greed and naked drive for hegemony will spark a dangerously unprecedented arms race which will fuel further "instability" across Asia.

WNU Editor: I have been telling my friends and contacts in China for years that if they continued with their military buildup and aggressive territorial demands, there will be a backlash. The Chinese are now learning what that backlash is. A trade war and an arms race.

Chinese are funny. Okay for them to make intermediate range missile, but not for America. They didn't learn the lesson of SS-20 and the answer.
China can not win this. Why are their leaders putting them through this nightmare? The entire world stands united. Of the 150+ countries only a handful are on china's side. The entire Asia pacific and much of Asia including India (!!) is against them. Japan. .south Korea. .Australia. .All not Light weights. Then the entire NATO on top. Singapore. Vietnam. Ffs China is completely surrounded now by adversaries THEY and their policies of militarising the south China Sea created. There's still the massive, biggest in history, perhaps of the world, housing bubble looming in China that will likely hit early next year in the trillions. They have no way out but world war or compromise with rest of world. This is insane. Free people will never live under their rule and they know it. This might be the beginning of the end of the Chinese party. By next year expect massive numbers of "corruption scandals" and purges. They cannot afford Xi.he's been a nightmare to China.
