Report: China Would Wipe Out Asia-Based US Forces Within Hours In The Event Of War

SCMP: Chinese missiles likely to cripple Asia-based US forces in event of conflict: report

* The report by Australia-based researchers urged US allies such as Australia and Japan to overhaul military investment to prevent American military might from being undermined in the region
* The report also detailed the prowess of the PLA Rocket Force, which is capable of making precision strikes as far from the mainland as Singapore

If an armed conflict broke out between Beijing and Washington, China’s hi-tech ballistic missiles would likely cripple the United States’ military bases and naval fleet across the Western Pacific region within hours, a new report by Australia-based researchers has said.

With China making rapid technological advancements and sharpening its hard power, the report urged the US and regional allies such as Australia and Japan to overhaul military investment and deployment plans, or face the prospect of American “military primacy” being undermined by the Asian power.

The 104-page report by the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney assessed US military strategy, spending and alliances in the region.

I have to stand on a chair to get above the BS this article entailed. If there were nukes on them and the US had no defense or were completely surprised, maybe they would get a big blow. If they fire them with just explosives, look at the gulf wars, Donbas, etc for the supposed effectiveness.

"If they fire them with just explosives, look at the gulf wars"

Saddam's Iraq was a third world country that had just finished an almost decade long war with Iran. His SCUDs are not a real comparison to what the Chinese have.

"Donbas"

I'm not aware of any serious usage of cruise/ballistic missiles in Ukraine, especially since Russia has kept its involvement as hidden as possible (through proxies, or at least units that are declared to be such)

There has been usage of MLRS/Grads but that is rocket artillery, not tactical missiles.

Middle Defenses have improved since the Iraq war, with new tech coming online regularly; I.e. lasers and smart missiles.

I can't open this link as the SCMP and I differ on their need for my address so didn't read the article, but in my mind this would trigger a war that would have no winners.
In this country it would be a perfect time to shed ourselves of the Obama mindset and some of it's supporters. "Useless mouths" they were referred to in Germany once upon a time. Nadler would shed tonnage and goo-gul'z yacht and private jetliners annual get together would not be tolerated. Conspicuous consumption would be on hold.
In China, I suspect the xi-boy and his growing dictatorship are history for many Chinese citizens. One thing for sure they better forget the taste of pork.
I'm also inclined to think that this would be a great time for India to grow geographically at xi-boy's expense. If he was still breathing. Tibet? You bet. The recent crackdown on muslims in their part of China? Blowback. The families of the tens of millions killed by chairman Mao's agricultural "reforms" last century...the commissars may have a new name and less power but like elephants, some humans also don't forget. Vietnam and China; adversaries from long ago.
After their power plants are martyred, back to candles made from pork fat...ooops. Swine flu, if not checked by then, will keep that part of Chinese CO2 production down adding another negative to A. Gore's global warming hot air.

Anyway, China is ringed by not-so-happy campers who are a definite factor in the go-to-war equation, and I didn't even throw in them Ivans to the north.

What do you mean not fair? Who said the Chinese other than the Chinese have good missiles? You saying one missile can wipe out an entire fleet or base? Sounds like you have bought into the bullshit are supermen that can leap tall buildings on a single bound..lol...Donbas you say, The Russians have been using their top of the line missiles there and in Syria, yet curiously NO WIPE OUT of the Syrians nor the Ukrainians. Get your facts right. The Chinese have shit equipment and knock offs of ours and the Russians. Step off the ledge.

No

"The Russians have been using their top of the line missiles there and in Syria, yet curiously NO WIPE OUT of the Syrians nor the Ukrainians. Get your facts right."

Is that why Russian intervention changed the tide of the war? The Gulf/Westerm backed jihadis used to control Homs, Deraa, most of Aleppo, Hama and even parts of Damascus are now confined to a piece of desert around al-Tanf and Idlib province (thanks to NATO member Turkey)

Meanwhile, did the US and their superior weaponry wipe out the Taliban?

Yeah right if we were a static target yes. But how effective would they be after a couple thousand GPS guided missiles hit high value targets. Followed by around the clock air strikes. I am guessing not very effective. Not to mention a total naval blockade of China. Count the days. They would fold like a cheap tent.😁😂

China won't do shit. .maybe in 100 years when they try this whole 'Chinese century' again. .they know this century they have no chance. .their economy is starting to collapse. Internal protests. .mainland is completely surrounded by adversaries who hate China and are always at the edge of war with them.. China just cannot afford any of this. On top China is heavily dependent on imports of foods, energy etc. .in case of war all these would freeze and millions would starve. I don't see any option for China other than to reform
