Nine people have been killed and at least 26 injured after a shooting at a bar in Ohio today in the second US massacre in 14 hours.
Police responded to calls about an active shooter in the area of East 5th Street in the Oregon District on Dayton, according to WHIO-TV.
The the gunman, who was using a 'long gun', was killed by police who were nearby in the early hours of this morning.
Customers said on social media many at Ned Peppers Bar were 'piling on top of each other to get out'.
Witnesses described 'casualties everywhere' and an attacker who was a 'white man dressed all in black'.

The gunman in Dayton, Ohio, has been identified as 24-year-old Connor Betts. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley says he used a "high capacity" rifle, carried extra magazines, and wore body armor when he opened fire in the city's entertainment district at roughly 1am on Sunday. We were talking about Trump and his racist tendencies, things he says that are in fact racist. His comment to the four colored women, born in America, including "go back to where you came from" was just that, a racist comment, and it was something no legitimate politician should ever do. He knew what he said and how it would be taken, his following cheered, he gloated, all televised.
I appreciate that there is nothing I can say that will convince you of Trump's racist tendencies but surely you have seen how manipulative he can be. I admit that he may not actually be racist, only using that meme to promote himself with his base many of which appear to be racists, and of course white supremists. The problem is that his base believes he is racist and there are members of that group that will take his comments as a nod to kill. As recent history suggests that may have been enough to set them off. If so, his very weak response to the mass shootings suggests the hate is deepening which reflects badly on America and Americans.
