Democratic-Led U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Move Closer To Recommending The Impeachment Of President Trump

CNN: House panel approves impeachment inquiry parameters as Democrats try to clarify their strategy

The House Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved a resolution defining the rules of the panel's impeachment investigation, the first vote the committee has taken related to the potential impeachment of President Donald Trump.

The party-line vote came as House Democrats have struggled to define the committee's probe, with Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler saying the committee is conducting an impeachment inquiry, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders are refraining from calling it that.

Thursday's vote, which does not need to be approved by the full House, gives Nadler the ability to deem committee hearings as impeachment hearings. It allows staff to question witnesses at those hearings for an hour after members conclude, gives the President's lawyers the ability to respond in writing to public testimony and allows the committee to collect information in a closed setting.

The public, knowing there is little they can do are bored with Trump and anti Trump stuff which will likely never see the light of day. They have given up hope and rightly so.

In the USA, Gerrymandering has become such a precise tool that the party who utilizes it most effectively (Republicans) can almost always swing an election in their favor. Gerrymandering, rampant voter suppression of likely Democratic voters.

An electoral college that almost completely nullifies the popular vote, and computerized voting machines that are easily hack-able and make it impossible to do a recount -- all of these things stack the odds heavily in favor of the Republican Party.

It was not Russia and Putin that lost the election for the Democrats. If the Democrats keep harping on Russiagate, keep sticking to their weak-kneed centrist platform of "pragamatism" and refuse to push hard for reform of the election system, get ready for 4 more years of this lunatic and his swamp rats in the White House.

Get ready for the corporate fascist takeover of America to be complete which will likely lead to where those who were sucked in are too late in their sorrow to accomplish anything at all to restore the country it its previous state of supposed greatness.

No wonder a third of eligible voters don't vote at all what with the end of the democratic process and subversion of laws.

Bob, The dimz lost the presidency, the house, the senate, and how many
governerships and mayoralities starting with the first vote after obamacare? Maybe they just weren't cutting it legislatively? And now they are doubling down with emotional silliness. Their loss wasn't the result of all the ills you mention. It's them and where they want to take they country. Nothing more, nothing less.

A fence for me but not for thee Pelosi is the dimz' problem. They and their ideas[?] are resonating with fewer and fewer citizens of this country.

The Democrats will string it along for as long as they can, and do precisely nothing for the country.

Unless, of course, the courts, and the voters, show the elected GOP what pussies they are, what lilly livered failures they are

I agree. But I don't think they are incompetent, they are criminal. I believe many of them are serious about making change for the people. The problem is that the hierarchy in the party are totally bought off and do what ever the wealthy want which is basically what the GOP does. What it comes down to it the GOP have the killer instinct and do what is necessary to be in charge. The Democrats, not so much hence the two party system functions more like one party.

At this point no party is working for the people and the people should realize that their party loyalty gets them nothing, no matter the party.
