@WNU
Somewhat I agree. To sell to China is worse than selling to Russia even.
But.
He's 60.
He was probably desperate for money.
It's his choice and it was the wrong choice, but I get it and that's why he likely only got 10 years (this and his guilty plea ofc which was a formality in his case)
The USG is lucky.
In 10 years he will be 70. He will live another 10 to 15 years on what? Social Security and no family most likely. He is losing his military/pension.retainer. Will he lose his federal pension? I figure he will suicide.
In any case USG has a bed open for the next prisoner and less of a chance of overcrowding and a lib judge messing with them. Liberals will lose, because Hansen will not increase the prisoner headcount and it will take away one of their bogus talking points.
Desperate for money?
Army pension
Federal job pension
Desperate for money needs an accounting spreadsheet and a comparison to other American's budgets.
Maybe he is a place for B Poster to shine (or to fail).

"But Russia!" - LIBTARD on JIHAD
"Hansen, who is from Syracuse, Utah, received at least $800,000 from China between 2013 and 2016 when he had serious financial trouble"
There are other people at his GS level.
Are they making it or are they also IN SERIOUS FINANCIAL TROUBLE?
This needs to be expounded on in detail. We need a financial post mortem.
How his case was handled is a message for bigger fish who will be fried in the future.

Everything you say is fully accurate until the last sentence. I have nothing to do with the traitor who sold secrets to China. I agree with the editor that he is "lucky."
My posts are always focused on careful analysis and are always from an Ametica first position. You'd know this if you took the time to read them. Besides I've already provided info on how you can find me. I have no ties either to US (un)intelligence or this evil person.
I have a problem with Hansen
I economize. I have not bought a new car since 2000.
Hansen's financial problems have to be dissected and studied.
He has not said he is sorry. He said he is sorry for his family (& presumably for himself). It is an open question whether he chance it again if he was assured his family would not suffer.
B Poster
Everything I wrote was accurate including the last sentence.
You could carefully analyze Hansen;s desperate financial position as an accountant.
You appear to accuse me of being a traitor. This isn't accurate and is insulting. You're probably the same anonymous poster who accuses me of being Russian. This is inaccurate as well. I've provided ample info for you to verify this. You haven't even taken the time to ",find out" yet you persist in slandering me.
As an accountant, I can analyze a financial position. It takes time and my time is very, very limited right now.
This person actively sought to undermine Anericsn interests whereas I seek to advance them in all areas. I will reiterate as the editor states he's very lucky.
The financial issues would need to be "dissected and studied." For this one would need full and unfettered access to all pertinent information. It doesn't excuse the actions regardless. His sentence is very lenient or so it would seem. If time permits, I will study this in more detail.
Appear?
Such an accusation!
The "last sentence" appears to accuse me of treason. Perhaps I misunderstand. Please provide a concrete example. Perhaps a position needs to be clarified and if I'm in error I'm always trying to learn.
Proof is in the pudding
"Proof is in the pudding." Then it would need to be supplied as it is a very serious accusation. Such proof hasn't been supplied.
Ron Hansen has been convicted of providing military secrets to China with the intent of harming Smerica which would be treason in and of itself. Not only this but he did so for financial gain. He sold us out and may have endangered all of us. The traitor should have gotten worse.
The article seems to imply that he provided something if value to the government to help them identify such traitors in the future. Perhaps this explains the light sentence.
The policies we should peruse to advance our interests are matters reasonable people can and will disagree on. Such differences do not constitute treason. I'm happy to discuss policy differences and I will address them as time permits. If I'm in error, correction is always appreciated. As has been said, always be willing to challenge our preconceptions.
I meant "...with the intent of harming America..." I apologize for the typo
"Maybe he is a place for B Poster to shine (or to fail). Having reread your post perhaps you are suggesting I should audit his books and records. I certainly would be well qualified to do this. I'm actually more qualified than the people the government normally hires for this sort of thing.
I wasn't sure why you were linking me to Mr. Hansen in some way. Being very busy perhaps I missed it. The government would actually do well to contract with me for things like this. There's nothing better than flushing out traitors!! If the government wishes to contract with me for this sort of thing, ample information has been supplied through this website and elsewhere for them to find me and to contact me.:-)
B Imposter,
I never implied you colluded with Hansen. Nor will I directly allege it either. It is not true., so I would not.
You are correct. I was pressed for tinlme and misread your initial post. My mistake. I apologize.
"Imposter" suggests you are accusing me of not being honest and Frank as to my identity and/or my positions on this site. I've already provided you and anyone else who wants to verify my identity all information that would be needed and I've always been very forthcoming as to my positions and have been willing to be corrected when in error. As a result of careful study which includes this site, I have altered my preconceptions more than once and fully expect to do so in the future.
Perhaps "imposter" is meant as snark. As I've said, I'm happy to discuss any post as time permits. Insults are unnecessary.
How many people here are on medication? The dialogues and verbosity here omg o_O
