Mitt Romney's National Security Adviser In His 2012 Campaign Is A Former CIA Official Who Now Sits On The Board Of The Ukraine Gas Company That Hunter Biden Was Once A Member Of

American Thinker: Mitt Romney adviser sits on Burisma board of directors

Well, this is certainly an odd coincidence! In fact, when you dig in, you find an amazing series of coincidences...if you believe in coincidences when the CIA is involved, that is.

Mitt Romney's national security adviser in his 2012 campaign — a career CIA spook who rose to its top levels — sits on the board of directors of Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company that formerly paid Hunter Biden $50K a month despite his complete lack of credentials or qualifications.

It is also an odd coincidence that Mitt has, as CNN puts it, "been a lone Republican voice expressing concern about President Donald Trump's July phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky in which Trump asked Ukraine's President to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his family."

WNU Editor: Nothing wrong with sitting on the board of directors for a foreign company. But what a weird coincidence. Or is it?

Getting into Ukraine was the stupidest move ever made by a major world power in the history of the world. In doing this, Cold War 2 was exacerbated. This is a war we didn't need, can't readily afford, may not be able to win, even if we do "win" we gain nothing of value, and all of this places the survival of America at grave risk. There needs to be a really good reason for such stupidity.

Now we are learning that top US officials and their families have been enriched by their dealings with the chump Ukrainian government. We may have been sold out by these people!! According to the Biblical account Esau sold his birthright for some stew. Hunter Biden sold out his country for $50,000 a month or so. It'll be interesting to find out how much the Romney associate received for selling us out. Perhaps it wasn't stupid at all. Something more nefarious may have been at work.

This needs a thorough investigation. How did we end up doing something so stupid? While there may not be anything illegal in the dealings of young Mr. Biden and the Romney associate, their actions undermined our interests in a material way by setting back relations with a major world power whose assistance we are going to need in a number of areas in the coming years if we are to be successful. At best, such actions were/are reckless. At worst, they were/are treasonous. As part of the process of the investigation, we need to try and ensure such things are not repeated.

With the change in leadership perhaps the chump Ukrainian government is now moving in the right direction. The Pentagon thinks so at least. If so, it will take some time for that to be manifested at lower levels. As such and as the editor points out corruption is endemic. With this change at the top perhaps Ukraine is now in a position to take a fresh look at such things. The chumps of the coup/revolution of which young Mr. Biden enriched himself by dealing with hurt their country as well. As such, Ukrainian and American interests mesh perfectly here. The investigation needs to be done anew. Due to the tainted nature of the previous Ukrainian government trusting their findings is problematic at best.

If we assume the whistle blower account is fully accurate, Trump was absolutely correct to solicit the assistance of the Ukrainian leader. If pressure was needed here, POTUS was absolutely correct to bring any and all leverage we have to bear. Young Mr. Biden and his cohorts whether deliberately or not harmed Ukraine in a major way. If they don't have the integrity to "look into" this, they certainly shouldn't be trusted with US military aid. Also, Trump personally has good relations with Russian leaders and part of why the Ukrainian leader was elected was to end the war with Russia so obviously it's in his interest to help Trump where and when he can and as a vast improvement over previous leadership it would be in our interests to support him. POTUS would have been negligent not to use pressure here should it be needed.

As to the allegation of a "cover up," investigators typically do not reveal to a target they are being investigated and with the unscrupulous elements in DC, POTUS would've been prudent to try and minimize public knowledge of this.

With no known experience in oil and gas young Mr. Biden and the Romney associate probably weren't hired based on their expertise in this industry. It appears to me that we were sold out by these people. I think it happened because of a combination of greed and ideology that allowed Ukrainian chumps to manipulate them. It absolutley needs to be looked into and since it happened in Ukraine it would be proper to solicit their assistance. POTUS would be negligent not to do this.
