2 Rudy Giuliani Associates Who Helped him In Ukraine Arrested For Breaking U.S. Election Financing Laws

Daily Mail: 'I don't know them. Maybe they were clients of Rudy': Donald Trump DENIES knowing anything about Giuliani associates arrested for funneling cash from mystery Russian – despite having one to dinner at the White House

* Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman assisted Giuliani's effort to get Ukraine to investigate his theory about the 2016 elections
* Donated $325,000 to pro-Trump super PAC and are accused of breaking campaign finance laws and concealing foreign donations
* The two men had dinner with President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. in 2018
* Giuliani has said both are clients of his and they appeared in a photo with the Trump lawyer and the president taken at the White House
* The president claimed ignorance on Thursday and said he takes photos with everyone who comes to the White House
* 'I don't know them,' he insisted as he left the White House for a campaign rally
* House Intelligence committee called both men to testify about their work with Giuliani in Ukraine but lawyer declined to have them appear
* They introduced Giuliani to Ukrainian figures as part of his effort to pursue his theory of foreign election interference
* The men took steps to hide foreign donor as source behind contributions due to his 'Russian roots and current political paranoia about it'

Donald Trump claimed he was unfamiliar with a pair of businessmen who worked with his attorney and were indicted Thursday for alleged campaign finance violations, despite appearing in a photo with them last year at the White House.

'I don't know them,' he insisted as he left Washington for Minneapolis.

Trump noted that he apparently took a photograph with the men—Rudy Giuliani—but claimed he doesn't know anything about them.

'I have pictures with everybody. I don’t know if there’s anybody I don’t have pictures with,' he said. 'I don't know them. I don't know about them. I don't know what they do.'

Reminded that they were clients of Giuliani, he again distanced himself from the men who donated $325,000 to a Super PAC supporting him.

'Maybe they were clients of Rudy. You’d have to ask Rudy. I just don’t know,' he told journalists assembled on the South Lawn.

WNU Editor: Is it me, or is the timing of these arrests a little bit suspicious. They are claiming that they were not aware on how election financing works in the U.S.. I say .... ignorance of the law s no excuse. Bottom line, we will know their fate when they go to trial in a year or two.

Is ignorance an excuse?

I would say so. They publish way too many laws. Can you memorize them all? Of course all of them do not pertain to you, but can you even keep up with the ones that pertain to you?

The law is bogus. The campaign limits were 1st passed in 1971. and people have been complaining about them ever since. McCain, a Democrat Wisconsin senator and others fulminated against them still not being right.

A good journalist should be worth more than 100 million dollars of campaign spending. We do not have good journalists. Trump spent less money than Hillary and won. Money the mothers milk of politics. It didn't win this last time and should not be a factor.

If they were knowingly breaking the law why would they come to the US?

The law enforcement look selective. Weaponized just lime journalism.

US citizen or not, one would have to be a hermit for the last thirty years in a beyond remote cave to be so unaware that you wouldn't for one second think to even ask about the legality of the sum of money mentioned.

Helen Keller wouldn't be this "unawares".

The timing is good given the, not too far away, coming election.

Once again Bob Huntley shows his basic ignorance. This time of psychology. Even unschooled thespians know the answer to this one; the one Huntley got wrong.
