Critical Reaction From Democrats And The Media To President Trump's Announcement On The Death Of ISIS Leader al-Baghdadi

WNU Editor: The Democrat response was predictable, with House Speaker Pelosi being the first to criticize President Trump in her statement on the raid .... Pelosi Statement on Al-Baghdadi Raid (Nancy Pelosi). Other Democrats are upset on not being notified .... House Dems angered that Trump told Russia, Turkey of al-Baghdadi raid, but not Pelosi (FOX News)

The press reaction have followed with their own criticisms .... CNN NatSec Analyst: Trump Went Into ‘Irresponsible’ Level of Detail About al-Baghdadi Raid (Mediate). There are those who want to talk about something else .... CNN cuts away from the press conference. And then there are those who are reluctant to say who al-Baghdadi even is .... Washington Post changes the headline on its Al-Baghdadi obituary from “Islamic State’s terrorist-in-Chief” to “austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State.” And then there is this gem .... MSNBC Host Guesses ISIS's Leader's Killing 'Only Strengthens Followers' Ideology' (News Busters).

Update: They are even criticizing the Situation Room photo .... Obama White House Photographer Suggests Trump Situation Room Photo of Unfolding al-Baghdadi Raid Was Staged (Newsweek).

Update #2: I have mixed feelings on President Trump disclosing some of the details of the raid. I never feel comfortable listening to details on how an operation was conducted because I know the enemy is listening, watching, and learning. But I also know that  in Washington leaks abound, and what President Trump disclosed this morning (using 8 helicopters, etc.) would have been leaked to the press within 24 hours anyway.

Update #3: I forgot to mention how I felt when I learned the news that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.  I was elated. Like the death of Osama Bin Laden, there is now some closure for those who lost loved ones because of this fanatic, and for everyone else, a sense of forward progress in our war against radical Islamists.

ah, russ...nothing better to do than to spew horseshit
my sources say this:

"Least believable of al-Baghdadi assault is alleged vest-bomb suicides of the leader and mate. Sounds like cowardice disinfo to spook his faithful and cloak helo missile barrage to obliterate entire location, avoid on-ground casualties. 8 helos, 4 weapons attack, 4 mop-up troops."

The good news is that a Islamist fanatic has been neutralised, the bad news is that islamism isn't driven by adhering to any particular leader, and will continue to plague the region and beyond.

Remarkably, Trump’s actions increased the risk to our forces. “Mr. Trump’s abrupt decision to withdraw American forces from northern Syria disrupted the meticulous planning and forced Pentagon officials to press ahead with a risky, night raid before their ability to control troops and spies and reconnaissance aircraft disappeared, according to military, intelligence and counterterrorism officials,” a New York Times report explains. “Mr. al-Baghdadi’s death, they said, occurred largely in spite of Mr. Trump’s actions.” There is obviously no small amount of resentment from those charged with our national security that our commander in chief really does not have their backs.

This should be a lesson for Trump and for those in the Democratic Party promising an abrupt withdrawal from the Middle East, as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) did in the last debate, that some military presence there is essential for defending ourselves and our allies against terrorist threats.

I was here and there were no comments. Ran some errands. I come back Russ posted once and it appears Fred posted 5 times and told Russ to shut the Hell up (in so many words).

Yup, that is the ignorant CHUD that we know and love.

Did Trump Say to 'Stop Congratulating Obama for Killing Bin Laden'?
YES YES YES

The mission was a failure.

Obama failed he gave away a whole state of the art helicopter to the Chinese.

Why do you think Chinese helicopters are so good now?

So, PhD, does that make 6 or 7 comments for you on this thread?

I read the NYT story. The writer is conditioned to bring negatives into the narrative if it's DJT. Santa Claus wouldn't stand a chance with such a crowd no matter what he put in their stocking if they had him on their enemies list. Now...if our recent ex-president was dropping down their chimney one would hear the following..."Santa! How did you know I've always wanted lumps of coal in my stocking. Oh thank you. You know coal is my favorite of all things in the universe". And so forth and so on.

Tedious bunch, those dimz. Tedious.

Cauces,

I'm afraid you're right. Who will be the next Allah driven monster?

I agree about 4:08.

To me he sounds like a state sponsored troll or someone out to lunch.

If they wanted a missile barrage to prevent casualties they could have sent cruise missile or jets. It would have been safer.

Cruise missiles followed by 4 helos with "mop up".

Somehow 4:08 does not a lot of knowledge. But he does have voices talking to him.
