Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday struggled to convince lawmakers to back his cryptocurrency and to defend Facebook's decision not to fact check political ads in the 2020 election.

The Facebook founder was in the congressional hot seat for more than six hours as he faced questions about his company's practices, how he'll attempt to combat false and inflammatory information on Facebook's platform, and what the social media giant will do to fight election interference in the 2020 contest.

Democratic Chairwoman Maxine Waters, who has been critical of Facebook's diversity practices and its plan for a digital currency, set the tone for the multi-hour event, lit into Zuckerberg.

And other lawmakers, including Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, followed her lead, pummeling Zuckerberg on a variety of topics related the social media platform he created.

WNU Editor: It is quite a sight to see. U.S. House Democrats demanding Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to ban/censor conservative Facebook sites and advertising, and conservative Republicans staying mute. Is it me, or was Mark Zuckerberg the only adult in the room?

Even as bad a Zuckerberg presents in these forums, when you're up against Waters, Cortez and Presley, its easy to appear the only adult in the room.

No, there were no adults in the room. What was happening is that the piranhas, lacking any other food source, turned on each other.

Why were these waterheads put in charge of grilling him? Surely there are more experienced and knowledgeable congress members who could have done a better job than the instagram celebrity and a half-senile octogenarian.

he House Transportation Committee issued a subpoena to the General Services Administration on Thursday seeking financial records and other information regarding President Trump’s D.C. hotel.

The Trump International Hotel operates in the federally owned Old Post Office Pavilion, on a lease that Trump signed in 2013 when he was still with his company, which has become the center of lawsuits and conflict-of-interest concerns since he took office.

According to a copy of the subpoena, sent by committee Chairman Peter A. DeFazio (D-Ore.) to GSA Administrator Emily Murphy, the committee is seeking any communications between the GSA and President Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump or Eric Trump, as well as monthly financial records that the Trump Organization provides to the agency.

When a guy who didn't get married until he had been eligible for AARP for several years talks about Lindsey, you have to wonder, if he is projecting.

The truth hurts and you can’t refute the truth about the slime balls on the right, no matter how much you badmouth Fred for sharing that truth.

Fred is very good at his self-appointed task of reposting agit-prop from reporters who are very good at taking dictation and dicktation from anonymous sources.

We've had twp reporters so far this year, who got 'scoops' by sleeping around. We have news papers that hire out and out racists like Jeong at the NYT.

We've learned that after 4+ years that "This time we a re going to get Trump."

Meanwhile we see Joe and Hunter Biden sail through scot free with "Thanks daddy for the gig from MNBA corporation when I was 22/23". It was a nice college graduation gift.'
