Defense News: The Pentagon has created a new office solely focused on China. Is that a good idea?
WASHINGTON — Since the release of the National Defense Strategy in early 2018, top Pentagon officials have stressed that the department needs to keep its focus on the long-term challenge from China. Now, with the creation of a new office focused solely on China, officials in the department hope to take a major step forward in that effort.
In June, the Department of Defense discreetly created a new job: the deputy assistant secretary of defense for China. Deputy assistant secretaries of defense, or DASD, serve as civilian subject matter experts, three levels down from the undersecretary of defense for policy, traditionally one of the most powerful positions in the Pentagon. The new job, according to a department statement, will serve as “principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense on all things China and will be the single hub for policy and strategy development, oversight, authorities review, and national-level interagency integration to align the Department’s efforts on China.”

The US first and foremost should revisit the Visa program they have with China.
There are so, so many industrial and state spies coming over using this easy access program and they get into your information and finance hubs and there is no need for this.
Want mathematicians? Best in the world are in West and east Europe. Just look at the nobel prices from Germany and UK alone. Want computer scientists? Same thing. Want chemists? Same thing. Want xyz? You can get it all from Europe. Why the f*ck do you make it harder for the people who founded the US and who share your blood, culture and values to come over than for Chinese who spy on you, send your software home to China? This is so weird.
But then again. .someone got paid off and you're stuck with this idiotic visa program until someone cries wolf and the MSM pays attention. Ie in maybe 50 years while you're at war with China and wonder why you lost your edge.

Math PhD said that if you wanted to learn a language for math, the languages to learn were Italian, German, French, Russian and /English. He said in the future would be Mandarin as well.
During WW2 the Japanese actually were very good at enriching uranium. The were also good fighter pilots. The fighter pilot story is important, because too many people believe that they would be poor pilots due to bad Asian eyesight and bad upbringing (bow legged).
Don't underestimate the Chinese.
