Turkish President Erdogan Sends Conflicting Messages On Meeting White House Officials

* Erdogan says he won't meet with U.S. national security adviser but will see Donald Trump if he comes to visit
* Initial reports said Turkey's leader had said he will refuse to meet VP Pence, who is scheduled to arrive Thursday; those turned out to be incorrect
* Erdogan says he won't declare a ceasefire with Kurds across the Syrian border
* And he told reporters he might pull out of a planned Nov. 13 White House trip

Turkey's president said Wednesday that he will refuse to meet with U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien and his delegation when he arrives later in the day to discuss his country's invasion of Syria.

'I am not going to talk to them. They will be talking to their counterparts. When Trump comes here I will be talking to him,' Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters at the Turkish parliament.

O'Brien flew to Ankara as an emergency measure to try to stave off an escalation of Turkey's attacks on Syrian Kurds.
