Yascha Mounk, The Atlantic: Evo Morales Finally Went Too Far for Bolivia

The socialist president claimed authoritarian powers in the name of the popular will. But average citizens were fed up with arbitrary rule.

Evo Morales has been attacking Bolivia’s democracy for many years. Since coming to office in 2006, the socialist president has concentrated ever more authority in his own hands, denounced the opposition in aggressive terms, and placed loyalists in key institutions, from the country’s public broadcaster to its highest court.

]Double Standard: Liberals Demand Conservative Justices Recuse Themselves From LGBT Cases

"Alito and Kavanaugh had met with Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), which has filed an amicus brief in three cases involving alleged employment discrimination against gay and transgender people.

Yet liberal justices have also met with academics who had filed amicus briefs in active Supreme Court cases."

If Liberals didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

Congress decided to spend more then revenues went up.

Sadly parrots do not understand supply & demand curves or hot to maximize profits or revenues. That would require calculus and "math is hard!" ( This is about the 20th time I told you, you functionally illiterate person!)

We are talking about the 1st month (two at the most of calculus), but for lazy illiterate people, "MATH is HARD!"

Don't have 2 or 3 hours a day for 1 month?

That would cost a a few 'free' pictures being clipped?

Bombshell Impeachment Testimony Shows Trump Let Russia Run America’s Ukraine Policy

New testimony from Catherine Croft, a former White House official, shows that Donald Trump and Mick Mulvaney were essentially letting Russia run America’s policy toward Ukraine during the first year Trump was in office.

As The Daily Beast reported on Monday, citing Croft’s testimony, “Under Mick Mulvaney’s leadership, the Office of Management and Budget temporarily put a hold on the delivery of anti-tank missiles to Ukraine in 2017 because of concerns their arrival would upset Russia.”

Via key Catherine Croft excepts: OMB placed a separate, earlier hold on Javelin missiles because Mick Mulvaney was concerned that “Russia would react negatively to the provision of Javelins to Ukraine,” despite the fact that “all of the other policy agencies were in support.”

The president first started pursuing this line last week, arguing that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) “will change the transcripts” from the impeachment proceedings ahead of their release. Trump kept this going a day later, suggesting Schiff shouldn’t be “allowed” to release transcripts, in part because the Californian “will change the words” and “manipulate” the materials.

Trump added that he considers Schiff a “freak” – a word he hasn’t previously tweeted since taking office.

In the days that followed, transcripts from the impeachment proceedings were, in fact, released to the public with minimal redactions.

Literally no one – no Republicans, no Democrats, no witnesses, no attorneys – has disputed the accuracy of the transcripts. In fact, the witnesses had an opportunity to review the transcripts for accuracy before their release, and there were no objections.

Or put another way, Trump’s pre-emptive conspiracy theory was wrong, discredited by reality. Confronted with these facts, the president decided to … repeat the ridiculous line.

"fascist, NAZI Democrats are trying to keep the president form lawfully governing. It is only fair to return the favor and do the same to the Democrats." DONE WHEN NEWT GINGRICH IN CHARGE

Anonymous said...

The Washington Post reported that House Republicans may try to throw the hapless Trump lackeys Rudy Giuliani, Mick Mulvaney and Gordon Sondland under the bus, suggesting they “could have acted on their own to influence Ukraine policy.” Other Republicans have settled on calling Trump’s actions “inappropriate” but not impeachable. But the House Republicans who are actually involved in the hearings seem set to go all in on the fantasy of Ukrainian election interference. To exonerate Trump, they are ready to help cover for Russia.
