Business Insider: The US Navy canceled a routine Black Sea patrol after Trump complained that it was hostile to Russia

* President Donald Trump called his then-national security adviser John Bolton to complain about a routine US Navy transit in the Black Sea after seeing a CNN report that framed the operation as a counter to Russia. An aide to a top Ukraine envoy testified about this to House investigators looking into the Ukraine scandal.
* The White House ordered the Navy to cancel the freedom-of-navigation patrol, though one eventually took place in February.
* The freedom-of-navigation operation came in the wake of an incident in which Russia attacked Ukrainian vessels and detained members of the Ukrainian military in the Kerch Strait, a body of water connecting the Black Sea to the Azov Sea.

Christopher Anderson, an aide to former Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker, testified that the White House canceled a Navy freedom-of-navigation operation in the Black Sea after President Donald Trump complained to then-national security adviser John Bolton about a CNN report that framed the operation as a counter to Russia, Politico reported.

According to Anderson's testimony, the news report in question came from CNN and characterized the operation as antagonistic toward Russia. Anderson testified that Trump called Bolton at home to complain about the article, and the operation was later canceled at the behest of the White House, Anderson said.

WNU Editor: President Trump watches CNN? My red flags are up already. The focus of this story is that a U.S. Navy freedom-of-navigation operation in the Black Sea was cancelled .... but occurred anyway a few weeks later. And the source for this story comes from someone who said he heard about it, and does not know why it was cancelled .... 'Alarm bells': What Cooper, Croft and Anderson told impeachment investigators (Politico). This is a non-story.

Trump canceled it?

I 1/2 believe it.

Now, it appears we have to dig deeper.

And if it is a lie, we need more bureaucratic heads to roll.

If non story, why is it posted?

Partisan factions can make up lies anfd give them legs.

If a white woman lies about getting attacked by 2 black men, does the black community call it a non-story?

People lie for partisan reasons.

If Charlie Rogers had been believed he would have a higher profile in his community. His community would have the right to wave the bloody flag and Charlie would have gotten speaking engagements with some of them being with renumeration.

So why would a faction of the Deep State lie ...?

The editor says it is a non story. It is or is not...this is not in the same category as news items given to justify posting a non story.

The Mandarin Class made it a story. So it is a story, although it might not end as they envision.

President Trump is commander in chief, he can cancel troop deployments by Constitution.
Obama routinely micro managed naval patrols near China. Nobody cared.

Name any one time that Trump ever said or did anything that harmed, opposed, or annoyed Putin/Russia...just name one.

As the Chinese say "Rich Country; Strong Defense"

1) The economy is good.

2) The defense budget is good.

3) Trump put pressure on delinquent NATO members to honor their obligations. This makes NATO stronger.

4) Assad still does not have the oil. The Kurds have it. Imagine what they can buy with it. Medicine, weapons capital equipment, etc.

5) The Russia, Sino Iranian Axis is weaker, since Iran is weaker.

Iran is not paying some of its foreign militias or not paying them enough. They are resorting to highway robbery. Iran is weaker.

you are defending Trump but fail to answer the question...
Russia in fact has gained by allying with Iran and Syria

"Russia in fact has gained by allying with Iran and Syria"

Wow, what an astute observe with a quick mind. Can't get anything past you.

Russia has been allied with Syria since the 1960s or 1970s.

Russia has been aligned with Iran since Obama's reign (or even further back).

Wait, What? You did not read the memo?

How has Russia gained, anon 6:55PM? Assuming they help the hapless Assad with reconstruction, for example the over 7 hospitals destroyed by the Russian air force and lord knows what else, some benefit. It's not sitting so well as in the past. New generations. New Russia. The soviet union is long gone and that mindset is diminishing, methinks.
