President Trump's ex-Russian Adviser Tells U.S. Lawmakers That The Ukraine Meddling Theory Is Fiction

Reuters: Former Trump aide calls Ukraine meddling theory fiction; Trump would welcome Senate trial

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s former Russia adviser urged lawmakers in the House of Representatives impeachment inquiry on Thursday not to promote “politically driven falsehoods” that cast doubt on Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. election.

Fiona Hill spoke on the last day of public testimony scheduled before the Democratic-led House Intelligence Committee probing whether Trump improperly asked Ukraine to launch investigations that would benefit him politically in return for a White House meeting or the release of U.S. security aid.

WNU Editor: This is another example on the disconnect between Washington, its foreign policy establishment, and what may actually be happening out there. President Donald Trump’s former Russia adviser believes that Ukraine meddling is fiction, so what is her explanation on this Politico report from 2017 .... Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire (Politico), or even this story from The Hill earlier this year .... Ukrainian to US prosecutors: Why don't you want our evidence on Democrats? (The Hill). Then there is the Ukraine media and their massive coverage of this story which makes Fiona Hill's assertion yesterday that Ukraine did not meddle in the 2016 Presidential election even more confusing. So who to believe? A former official with enormous government resources behind her who says talk of meddling is fiction, or others who are publicly reporting on this story and providing evidence to back-up their reporting. You tell me.

This is fascinating to me. That this, one call to Ukraine, is worse that what Nixon did.

For those who are following this with a healthy dose of skepticism; this whole farse is just exhausting.
For those who are already convinced; this is the truth.

It's a religion.

I thought I heard that Fiona Hill worked for a George Soros related organization from 2000 to 2006. I tried looking it up. Her Wiki entry does not mention that time period. Looking at older pages of her wiki entry shows that it was changed like 100+ times in one day. Partisans are busy. The reason for such a break in employment could be as simple she had kids.

At any rate she has only been an American citizen since 2002 and America is the poorer for it.

This egghead wrote an op-ed in the WaPo in 2015 that giving Ukraine weapons would be a mistake.

It was a mistake in 2015, but it is a crime to delay giving Ukraine Javelin anti-tank missiles in 2019. These are missiles that Obama BTW did not give Ukraine. He gave them a little nonlethal aid.
