Daily Mail: Mitch McConnell says Nancy Pelosi is SCARED to send him 'shoddy' articles of impeachment as House speaker hints she'll delay for leverage over Senate trial and Donald Trump claims he would 'win by default' if 'Do Nothing' Democrats don't show up
* Nancy Pelosi forced the Trump impeachment across the finish line Wednesday
* Now the process moves to a U.S. Senate trial but Pelosi said she's in no hurry
* She blasted Senate leader Mitch McConnell for saying he's not an 'impartial' juror, and declared she won't hand him the baton without a pledge of 'fairness'
* Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is pushing for witness subpoenas that Republicans don't want to agree to
* Impeachment trial can't start until Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy choose 'managers' to carry the House's case to the Senate
* House will be out of session from December 20 until January 7
* McConnell plans a floor speech slamming Pelosi as 'afraid' and warning her that the Senate's more patient pace will have a 'calming' influence
* President Donald Trump warned that '[t]he Do Nothing Party want to Do Nothing with the Articles & not deliver them to the Senate, but it’s Senate’s call!'
House Democrats have begun pressing Speaker Nancy Pelosi to force the Senate to tailor Donald Trump's upcoming constitutional trial to their wishes—by refusing to send the articles of impeachment they passed Wednesday night until Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agrees to their terms.
McConnell isn't amused. He plans to call her bluff in a mid-morning floor speech, saying she's afraid to hand him the baton because she knows the articles are weak.
'Pelosi suggested that House Democrats may be too afraid to even transmit their shoddy work product to the Senate,' he will say, mocking her suggesting in a post-vote press conference that she'll hold the two articles over McConnell's head until he agrees to a 'fair' trial.
The majority leader's staff began trickling out excerpts of his floor speech overnight.

WNU Editor: This delay only makes President Trump's case that the Democrats are the 'Do Nothing" party. On a side note. A friend brought this issue up with me this morning, and this is my response ....
The problem that I see is that I do not think the public will support this strategy.
Like Brexit that just dragged on forever, this forever impeachment anti-Trump strategy is going to blow-back on them.
In the end Nancy Pelosi will get her Nixon moment when members of her own party will come up to her and tell her to stop, and to ignore what the progressive wing is demanding.
Do the Democrats want to spend Christmas and New Years with friends, family, and constituents explaining this delay? Maybe the progressive wing of the party wants to, as well as the media and the pundits. But for everyone else .... the answer is a big NO!
Update: U.S. Senator Majority Leader McConnell's speech starts at the -7:10 mark in the above video.

The best analogy I've heard all day re: this impeachment is, "The Democrats are the dog that finally caught the car."
