FOX News: US, Canada have funded Chinese lab eyed as likely source of coronavirus outbreak
Both the United States and Canada have sent money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese lab that multiple sources tell Fox News is suspected of being the likely source of the coronavirus pandemic -- with the Canadian funding coming as recently as last month.
Fox News reported Wednesday that, according to sources, there is increasing confidence the novel coronavirus likely escaped from the Wuhan laboratory, where it was being studied, with a worker spreading it to the larger population.
In a news release from early March, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research announced millions in funding to research and develop tools such as vaccines and tests to combat the coronavirus. One project that got $828,046 from the agency was aimed at developing a rapid coronavirus test "using isothermal amplification and CRISPR technology." Among the organizations on the project was the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

WNU Editor: The U.S. gave funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology before the pandemic broke out .... Wuhan lab was performing coronavirus experiments on bats from the caves where the disease is believed to have originated - with a £3m grant from the US (Daily Mail). But Canada gave its money only last month, money that was given directly to the scientists who are working at this lab?!?!?!? WTF!?!?!?! There is no reason why anyone should trust anything come out from China right now, especially from a government that has deliberately destroyed public records pertaining to the outbreak from December/January, as well as silencing those in China who are investigating the origins of this pandemic. I hope at his next press conference a reporter will ask the Prime Minister on why was this money given, and is there any oversight on what will happen to these funds. Since the Wuhan Institute of Virology is now closed to foreigners, I am willing to bet that there is no oversight. Details on this Canadian contribution are here .... no evidence anywhere but speculation and attempt to place blame that a China lab was responsible. If you want to believe that, show us your evidence.
