Coupled with the run on toilet paper that led to severe shortages, recent events are leading Americans to wonder if the nation's food supply is secure.
Experts say that by and large, Americans don’t need to worry about food running out, but that does not mean all food will be readily available.

The Meat Industry's Foreign Labor Problem is Threatening America's Meat Supply
Maybe the problem is the cheap asses at Smithfield? Just like there are meningitis out breaks in college dorms, maybe there are COVID outbreaks at meat packer dorms due to crowded conditions.
They do give tours of meat packing plants. The problem is not at the plants or how the workers work. They problem is after work.
Americans will do these jobs. My cousins spouse had one of these jobs until they closed the plant. Then they worked at an equally hard or harder job. No Smithfield and others are just bringing H2A workers to get cheaper labor.
Those workers are here and we must honor the contracts, but that does not mean we have to keep making new such contracts.
