China’s attempt to copy Russian aircraft Su-33 by reverse-engineering the jet to create its own J-15 has resulted in a series of disasters, as numerous of these jets have crashed and burned down.
We all remember the story about China copying a Russia carrier-based jet without obtaining permission. Now those airplanes are crashing, and Russia is not the least bit bothered.
Russia and China have succeeded in establishing cordial relations over the last few years, to the extent of holding joint military exercises. Sputnik News, Russia’s leading news platform, recently published an article, titled “Chinese Navy Short on Carrier-Based Fighters, Only Has Problem-Ridden J-15.”

In the short term: Correct
In the short term those aircraft are not as capable as your and will do badly in a match up.
In the long term: If the Chinese do a lessons learned, they will eventually correct the deficiencies and have jump started an arms manufacturing center.
The Chinese are copying the Russians in more ways than one.
Tupolev Tu-4: It was reverse-engineered from the American Boeing B-29 Superfortress.
Back in WW2 it was easier to reverse engineer p[lanes before avionic had millions of lines of code.

I think it's over for China unless they can get rid of Trump and Pence. Pelosi would gladly help the Chinese. She's so incompetent that her defence would be senility in defence of treason.

Upgunned Sherman toward the end of WW2 did better against German tanks.
The DoD when they recognize that an enemy or a potential adversary has better equipment, will try to ensure training, doctrine and tactics are changed to cancel out enemy superiority until better equipment is obtained.
Part of the reason for the Israeli success was that the Israeli soldier was better than their opponents due training, conviction and command and control.
