France 24: Despite praise for Covid-19 response, Taiwan barred from WHO assembly
Despite winning global praise for its efficient response to the coronavirus pandemic, Taiwan did not get invited to this week's meeting of a key World Health Organization (WHO) body, an omission Taiwanese and US authorities have blamed on pressure from China.

If the 'leaders; in Beijing want to re-unify, them maybe they should do it the German way.
But they might have to give up power and they refuse. That is the real sticking point.
China is a prisoner of its own way. They cannot accept Taiwan at the meeting because it could show an "independent" Taiwan But it is also an obvious mistake for the rest of the world not accepting the country which did the best against the COVID-19...and worse: bringing sympathy from countries to Taiwan.
