Politico: ‘We’re thinking landslide’: Beyond D.C., GOP officials see Trump on glide path to reelection
Conventional indicators suggest the president’s bid for a second term is in jeopardy. But state and local GOP officials see a different election unfolding.
By most conventional indicators, Donald Trump is in danger of becoming a one-term president. The economy is a wreck, the coronavirus persists, and his poll numbers have deteriorated.
But throughout the Republican Party’s vast organization in the states, the operational approach to Trump’s re-election campaign is hardening around a fundamentally different view.
Interviews with more than 50 state, district and county Republican Party chairs depict a version of the electoral landscape that is no worse for Trump than six months ago — and possibly even slightly better. According to this view, the coronavirus is on its way out and the economy is coming back. Polls are unreliable, Joe Biden is too frail to last, and the media still doesn’t get it.

I think it is too early to predict what will be happening in November based on today's polls. Events are changing the political environment almost daily, and no one knows what will be the top news story next week let alone months from now. But there are certain things that I am watching. The first is who will be Biden's running mate. I do not think Biden will be healthy enough to finish his Presidential term. He is already having problems now, and it is sad to say that when you look at how he was 10, 15, 20 years ago to who he is today, he is just a shadow of what he use to be. That is why his running mate will be important. Because if she and Biden do win, she will be the next President before 2024. I am also watching how the pandemic is behaving. If we have a serious second wave in the coming months it will be a disaster for the economy, and many will blame President Trump.

9 Unarmed black people were killed by cops last year. One of them had a loaded gun in the car. Better 9,000 more black on black murders that for one or more officer involved killings of an African American.
There was a drive by in my metro. Some guys shot up a house. The cops chased them. there was a foot pursuit and one of the Drive by shooters shot at the cop. They returned fire. He died. Better that the police had never showed up. Let the guys live another day for another drive by.
That is where we are at. That is how many people feel.
Oh there will most certainly be a so-called "second wave". Health officials - whom we have discovered to be a reliably biased lot - will happily assert that a catastrophic second wave is up on us. Right about the last week of October. The media is a given to parrot the line in concert.
Maybe they can even gin up some more riot-grievance as a bonus. Cities burning and pandemic raging? No way Trump could possibly be reelected, right?

The one non-LTC person, who died was in their 50s with multiple issues.
People are sick of being threatened by governors and mayors, who are of a certain ilk.
