Zero Hedge: US Protest Arrests Surpass 10,000; Officials Fear New COVID-19 Explosion As Jails Swell

A new nationwide tally produced by the Associated Press finds protest arrests across America has topped 10,000 since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week.

Events quickly spiraled in many major American cities into rioting, looting, and general lawlessness as mobs of angry protesters took ever entire city blocks; however, many demonstrations have remained peaceful — surprisingly such as protests in Flint, Michigan — notable given its recent history of tensions with local government over the water crisis.

Los Angeles has seen the most arrests nationwide, accounting for over a quarter, while the second most is in New York, with Dallas and Philadelphia to follow.

WNU is just reporting what is out there

WNU is just relaying AP's race baiting headlines.

Arrests should be proportional to the number of crimes. This has been pointed out. The prostitutes, madames and rentboys at the AP are stupid or evil.

You never want more arrests than crimes committed.

That is arrests < crimes committed.

For serious crimes you want arrests = crimes committed

Did those intrepid, timid souls at the AP find something shocking? Are there more arrests than crimes committed?

Per the Washington Compost, a former newspaper, 9 unarmed African-Americans were shot/killed by police last year. 18 or 19 unarmed whites were shot/killed by police.

That number should probably be zero, but we have to look at each and every case. An unarmed person can reach for an officer's gun and many do. I have seen state police video of a patrol officer murdered with his own gun (by a white thug) at a traffic stop.

A black cop in Utah shot an unarmed white teenager. No riots ensued. The 'explanation' was that the teenager did not respond to command (He was partially deaf.) and it looked like he had a weapon.

African Americans are afraid of police? What they really should be afraid of is other African Americas, who are gang members or criminals. In my city of 100,000 twice as many black people will be murdered by black people than are unarmed black people killed by police in the whole of the US (330 million people). Just started getting the 90 degree days. The days are getting longer. Less rain and a Democrat wrecked economy.

Are arrests starting to pick up because president Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to protect innocent Americans? I think so.

We also know from watching events unfold that police forces have treated the demonstrators with kid gloves erring on the side of not intervening and taking extreme caution to avoid injuring non violent protesters. As the violent portion often intermixes with the peaceful protesters this has placed the lives of innocents, their property, and their livelihoods in extreme danger in many cases. So, if 10,000 or so have been arrested and we know from the news footage that for everyone arrested at a minimum hundreds are not, the narrative put forth by General Mattis that these are just a few lawbreakers is obviously false.

Did he not bother to do the most basic of research? Obviously not. His other bogus claim of peaceful protesters being removed from Lafayette Park at the behest of president Trump has been debunked by both the park police and Secretary of Defense Esper.

As these are obviously NOT few lawbreakers and he can't get his facts clear on the Lafayette Park incident and these are very easy things to figure out, this isn't calculus!! His analysis of pretty much anything requiring more than a kindergarten mindset should not be trusted. Furthermore when he says "we cannot be distracted by a few lawbreakers" what he is really saying is he cannot be distracted to defend the lives and property of innocent Americans who are being targeted by vicious gangs who have military precision and tactics.

Apparently this man won't consider all viable options to defend innocent Americans being attacked on their homeland but he has no problem sending young men and women into fruitless conflicts all across that not only do not advance our national security interests but they gravely undermine it. Essentially he has no problem sacrificing the lives of our young men and women in the fruitless endeavors as well as inflicting the inevitable harm on foreign citizens that lead to inevitable blowback against Americans everywhere. This would seem to be a very sadistic and very evil man. I'm sorry to be so harsh with regards to the general.

Presumably military personnel take an oath to defend America against enemies both foreign and domestic. This leader has no problem sending men and women into harms way to carry out fruitless missions that do not advance our interests, undermine our interests, lead to the deaths and permanent injuries of many of our young people, and contribute to the inevitable blowback against Americans everywhere yet he opposes any and all options necessary to defend innocent Americans who just want to live in peace and is willing to sacrifice their lives, their businesses, and their homes all because he cannot be "distracted." I agree with POTUS I'm glad he is not there now!!

Does he speak for the majority of the military leadership? I hope and pray not!! After all I can of no better approach than this to utterly destroy the morale of the American military. They're expected at a moments notice to risk life and limb to carry fruitless missions to God only knows where but the defense of their brothers and sisters in America is off limits!! General Mattis just can't be distracted.

I'm pretty sure the general as a former top government official has a lethal security force to protect him. If someone tries to attack or rob him or his family, he expects them to use lethal force including his own "Insurrection Act" if needed. Different rules for thee than for me!!

Actually I don't get paid to do this. This is a very detailed analysis that does not lend itself well to talking points.

Take the time to read it and if you have questions or wish to discuss it I will try and address it. Otherwise stop trolling.
