Politico: Esper risks being sidelined as White House floats replacements
The Defense secretary's job is likely safe, but the White House is still looking at options.
President Donald Trump is unhappy with Pentagon chief Mark Esper. Aides are gossiping about who could replace him. Yet the embattled Defense secretary may be on his way to a more Trumpian punishment: sidelined within the administration.
Esper’s future is in question after he opposed Trump on Wednesday over the president’s call to deploy active-duty troops to quash protests taking part throughout the U.S. In the 24 hours since Esper spoke out, he has met with the president at the White House and has received tepid-at-best endorsements from Trump’s team.

Update: Analysis: White House, Pentagon tensions near breaking point (AP)
WNU Editor: If you believe in the media you would think that the President and the Pentagon leadership are always yelling at each other .... Trump’s Public-Relations Army (Dexter Filkins, New York Magazine). That is not how things work. People come and go. I am sure there will be changes at the Pentagon. but not today.

I'm more and more amazed by the stupidity of the media.
Of course there will be changes. The cowardly, unstable Trump cannot handle anybody Telling him he is wrong. He only surrounds himself with yes-men and enabler’s . Anybody who doesn’t think so hasn’t been paying attention to what has happening in this administration. It’s time to start listening to the people who where “in the room.”
President Trump was duly elected to make certain decisions. Petagon officials were not. Where I come from as a business owner we do not "yell" at the boss." We implement those decisions or we resign and we do not run to the media as little loser Jimmy Mattis did. His "plan" to kill whomever he meets obviously depends upon his security detail implementing his version of whodthe "Insurrection Act" to kill anyone who'd dare question him
