NBC: Emergency meeting held in South Korea after Kim Jong Un's sister threatens military action
South Korean military "is maintaining resolute military readiness to respond to all situation,” the country's defense ministry said.
South Korea convened an emergency security meeting on Sunday after the sister of North Korea’s leader threatened military action against South Korea in the latest escalation of tensions between the two neighbors.
Kim Yo Jong, a trusted aide to her brother, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, said she would leave the right to take the next step of retaliation against South Korea to North Korea’s military in a statement carried by state news agency KCNA on Saturday.
Kim, who has gained new prominence in North Korea's power structure, did not specify what the next action could be, or when exactly it will be taken, but she added: “I feel it is high time to surely break with the South Korean authorities. We will soon take the next action.”

WNU Editor: My gut tells me that China is pushing North Korea to play hardball against South Korea and the U.S. .... South Korea is just one casualty of the US-China ‘cold war’ (SCMP editorial).

Quite upset about some leaflets. There's a good chance a war started by the little sister will be finished in a manner not foreseen and she and her rotund brother will be history. Then the place will be xi's headache. Frankly I give them more credit than to pull a stunt like starting a war but.....
I too think this derives from Chinese control of NK. I don't think NK can act independently of China.
The NK gives China plenty of headaches,they are independent enough. SK would pay a price but can kick NK BUTT. So why would NK start a war? That's the million dollar question.
