The holiday had always been her daughter’s favorite. Fiana Tulip loved the family cookouts, the fireworks, the feeling of America united. Now, she wonders whether she’ll ever be able to celebrate it again. In mourning, she’s furious.
Tulip, 40, had seen her country fail to control the novel coronavirus. She had seen Texas ease restrictions even as case counts and hospitalizations soared. She had seen fellow citizens refuse to wear masks or engage in social distancing.
“I feel like her death was a hundred percent preventable. I’m angry at the Trump administration. I’m angry with the state of our politics. I’m angry at the people who even now refuse to wear masks,” she said.
Six months after the coronavirus appeared in America, the nation has failed spectacularly to contain it. The country’s ineffective response has shocked observers around the planet.

WNU Editor: It is too early to say that the world has handled the pandemic better than the U.S.. It has been a devastating few months for the U.S., but the pandemic is still raging in other parts of the world, and there is no end in sight. I live in Canada, and while our cases/deaths have significantly declined, there is a very real fear that this outbreak will come back with a vengeance during the winter months.

People complain about medical costs and social security (SS). Well, due to the efforts of Mario the Pious and other governors, the SS and medicare holes are being plugged. Also, all those people will be voting reliably now.

I'll go out on a limb here with a 1 in a million shot. Occam's razor would say that the elites are playing politics because they see that it is not hurting the productive members of the herd on their ranch. The people dying are high cost and high maintenance. But ranching is hard and they would rather move on to new issues to exert more control. SS and Medicare got them elected in numbers for decades. But they want more control. Global warming and other issues do that . They want into the cities, out of single family homes, out of cars, onto mass transit. Ranching is hard. They want to move into the 21st century like Ag. Farmers do not raise pigs and chickens outdoors anymore, They raise them indoors. Analogously, Democrats want to move people into cities.
Maybe the evil CCCP is not lying. Maybe the Americans created the virus. That is why they are not excited. They know what the virus can do.
