I have not seen reports on the 3 Gorges Dam except in Gateway Pundit. I have not discounted those reports, but they are not worth forwarding on such slim reporting.
I looked up displacement, which the news article used, and see that they uses laser to measure dam integrity much like they use lasers to measure displacement along earthquake fault lines. A little research show ed there are several ways of measuring dam health.
A broken dam would ruin my day in a few different ways.
There just does not seem to be enough concern or reporting on the issue. I'll have to look for a civil engineering website for answers maybe.
