President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested delaying the November election until 'people can properly, securely and safely vote.'
But Trump does not have the power to delay the election. That would take an act of Congress, which is highly unlikely to happen.
Trump's pronouncement, however, came right after news the U.S. economy shrank by 33 per cent in the April-June quarter.
That number marks the worst quarterly plunge ever and comes as the coronavirus pandemic has shut down businesses, thrown tens of millions out of work and sent unemployment to 14.7 per cent. Trump has banked his re-election chances on a strong U.S. economy. Voters give him high marks on his economic policy but have dinged him for his handling of the coronavirus and race relations.

WNU Editor: The media is saying that President Trump wants to delay the election. But if anyone bothers to read his tweet (see above), he is not saying that. He is raising awareness to the many problems of mail-in voting, and if this is the path that should be decided upon, the priority must be to make sure that such a process is secure before it happens (which he then follows with a number of question marks). Everyone knows that the election will not be delayed. The concern is on how the election will be held .... ballot harvesting, mail-in ballots, etc.. As to what is my opinion on mail-in voting. Why have the election on November 3rd. It is not like it is set in stone. They say it is, but it is not.
The election is never over until they find the last 1,000 ballots in the trunk of car (Iron Range in Minnesota and in St Petersburg, Florida).
If you look at when votes are actually cast and counted it is more like a smear. The median, mode, & average may be on election day, but that gets iffier by the year.
There is an primary election in the state of New York held in June. It is almost August and we still do not know the winner. CBS conducted a mail ballot test and 3% of the ballots did not get to destination.
In the last decade 23 million military ballots have been lost or too late to be counted.

Only a fool and a hypocrite would advocate for mail-in ballots and howl against in-person voting - while at the same time say mass Marxist protests and riots are fine.
Voter ID. Traditional voting booths. And cut the ballot harvesting.
The Dems cannot be allowed to mask their fraud and corruption in incompetence again.
If people can line up at Walmart, Costco, and Best Buy, then they can bloody well line up at a polling station. The idea that they can't and the only solution is mail in voting is acknowledgement that the Democrats want to cheat big time. Also I think it's a realization that the severe restrictions in Democrat controlled areas will suppress democratic voters (because who wants to put up with that bullshit) and encourage republican voters (because who wants to put up with that bullshit).
