Yahoo News: The CIA sent a team of 4 operators on a spy mission targeting China. None came back.

As Tropical Storm Higos blew in from the Pacific, Stephen Stanek, a covert CIA operative, faced a decision. It was time to either cancel the operation he was running or go forward with it. The storm was barreling through the Philippines but was then projected to veer north and miss their area of operation.

Stanek’s partner for the operation, a younger man named Michael Perich, had recently graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy. A football player at the academy, Perich was now at the beginning of his career in paramilitary operations and had just recently been trained as a scuba diver.

Michael Perich sat for the 3rd mate or 3rd engineer test administered by the Coast Guard. DID HE OBJECT OR WAS HE TOO JUNIOR TO WANT TO OBJECT?

It will take some time to see what they have about craft capability/size and sea state. Schooners use to ply the Roaring 40's. Sailing ships use to venture into the screaming 60's.

I think in that small of a craft they were just screwed. I do not know if heading into the swells/waves head on or at a 45 degree angle or less would make much of a difference. Meet the waves and start working out. Probably never had a chance.

Did Gabby Giffords ever look into this? Her husband might have a few things to say on the subject.

A tropical depression only has 38 mph sustained winds or less. The wave height was ...?

NOOB captain, noob graduate(deck / 3rd mate) ... better than me but still noobs

38 mph sustained wins or less. Seas State?

Maybe it could have been the Chinese?

Maybe if Kelly gets elected, he worries more about making money or taking $$$.
