Will The Pentagon Become Involved If Unrest Over The Election Explodes?

DNYUZ: At Pentagon, Fears Grow That Trump Will Pull Military Into Election Unrest

WASHINGTON — Senior Pentagon leaders have a lot to worry about — Afghanistan, Russia, Iraq, Syria, Iran, China, Somalia, the Korean Peninsula. But chief among those concerns is whether their commander in chief might order American troops into any chaos around the coming elections.

President Trump gave officials no solace on Wednesday and Thursday when he again refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power no matter who wins the election, and on Thursday, he doubled down by saying he was not sure the election could be “honest.” His hedging, along with his expressed desire in June to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act to send active-duty troops onto American streets to quell protests over the killing of George Floyd, has incited deep anxiety among senior military and Defense Department leaders, who insist they will do all they can to keep the armed forces out of the elections.

“I believe deeply in the principle of an apolitical U.S. military,” General Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in written answers to questions from House lawmakers released last month. “In the event of a dispute over some aspect of the elections, by law, U.S. courts and the U.S. Congress are required to resolve any disputes, not the U.S. military. I foresee no role for the U.S. armed forces in this process.”

But that has not stopped an intensifying debate in the military about its role should a disputed election lead to civil unrest.

WNU Editor: In a worse case scenario I do not see how the military cannot stay uninvolved. If on election night and/or the day (or days) after the election the returns show President Trump winning the election and the reaction are massive riots in cities coupled with inaction from Democrat city mayors and Democrat governors because they have made the decision to let this unrest explode .... the National Guard and probably regular military forces will be deployed whether the Pentagon's leadership wants it or not. But I do not see this scenario happening. The more likely scenario is this one. Regardless of who wins the unrest will continue, but the reaction from the White House will be more severe. A President Trump and/or President Biden cannot let this continue, and will use their mandate to quickly end these protests peacefully through persuasion, threats, or (finally) with force.

Why should the Democrat Party be considered for governing, when they fund, direct, and use riots as a tool to gain power? It has no place in a civil society.

I'm sure Trump will "win" just like Lukashenko "won".

They're probably already involved, intercepting stuff coming from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea

It is the Democrats that are destroying ballots and ballot records by the millions.

Democrats are the Lukashenko party.

The losing Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Shiva Ayyadurai, had gone off on a long rant about his crushing defeat. To boil it down, the election was stolen. He was framed.

About 20 minutes into his rant, Shiva accused me and the morning host at my radio station, Jeff Kuhner, of conspiring to destroy another Republican candidate (whom I have never met, by the way) back in 2014.

“People like Howie Carr set up Mark Fisher,” he said. “These people are the not-so-obvious establishment of the white working class, just like Bernie Sanders and Al Sharpton are the not-so-obvious establishment of the left and the so-called Black people.”

It must be an honorary position, because I can’t find any W-2s or 1099s indicating that I’ve ever gotten a paycheck from the Not-So-Obvious Establishment of the White Working Class Inc.

That wasn’t all Shiva ranted about. He thanked God for the Second Amendment. He described Massachusetts as “a friggin’ Third World country.” Not that he was bitter or anything, you understand …

You probably saw some of Shiva’s spots on TV. Dr. Shiva, as he calls himself, was on the air weeks before Kevin O’Connor, the lawyer from Dover who crushed him by a 60-40 margin, or 53,000 votes.

That’s a landslide, so it must have been a conspiracy, voter fraud, etc. At least that’s what Shiva’s been saying ever since the polls closed.

Parrot Post at 1700

The allegation is that the records (ballots) which have to be retained for 22 months to comply with Federal records Retention Law were destroyed.

Has it been 22 months? Can you show the records? IF they still had the records, they could shut him up.

Funny but the old curmudgeon still does not grasp (or maybe care) about the concept and law of records retention. Why is that?

No records retention, then no transparency.

No transparency, then maybe you do not have a Democracy?

I thought Parrot cared about Democracy, but I believe he was feeding us a line of shit.

Of course there is nothing to see here, because well kinks in the system.
