* Biden's campaign afterwards said the meeting never took place and that he has never been
* Facebook, on Wednesday, said it would stop the story from being shared until it had been vetted
* It has partnerships with dozens of third-party fact checkers, the identities of which are largely unknown
* Many asked why Facebook was entitled to call into question the Post's reporting
* Critics accused the company of election interference and of protecting Biden
Facebook and Twitter have been accused of 'election interference' for throttling the news story about Joe Biden meeting his son Hunter's Ukrainian partners when he was Vice President, claiming it needs to be independently verified by fact-checkers.
The story was published by The New York Post on Wednesday.
It suggests that Biden met with Ukrainian businessman Vadym Pozharskyi in 2015, when Hunter was working for Pozharskyi's gas firm. Months later, Biden pressured Ukrainian officials into firing a prosecutor who was looking in to the firm.
If true, it raises serious questions of whether or not Biden abused his power as Vice President.
Facebook, however, has decided to 'reduce distribution' of the article until it has been verified by its own, third-party 'fact checkers'.
It didn't say why it was taking the unusual step.
Later, Twitter users reported being unable to share links to the story online.

In a statement, Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said, “we have reviewed Joe Biden's official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place.”
"Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as 'not legitimate' and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing. Trump administration officials have attested to these facts under oath,” Bates said.
Bates added that the Biden campaign could not immediately respond to the story’s allegations in the Post story when it ran on Wednesday morning, because the publication “never asked the Biden campaign about the critical elements of this story. They certainly never raised that Rudy Giuliani — whose discredited conspiracy theories and alliance with figures connected to Russian intelligence have been widely reported — claimed to have such materials.”

I saw this at ZeroHedge this morning. Immediately I thought scam. It's from the US press, right? Then I got into a few details...family photos and I don't recall what else but it will be hard to refute. The son is a pathetic person. Ask his suffering wife.
Biden will have the silence of most of what passes for news media in America deliberately ignoring this. I don't think the behavior here is very unpolitical, frankly. All too common, probably. But there are higher stakes here.
I voted at last, unwillingly, for Trump last election. What propelled me into the voting booth was the final release of yet another mountain of hillary's secret e-mails.
I hope this release will push more wavering voters into the Trump camp.
