JERUSALEM/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israel said on Friday it will not oppose U.S. sales of “specific weapons systems” to the United Arab Emirates, in an apparent reference to the F-35 warplanes sought by Abu Dhabi.
Under a principle of preserving Israel’s “qualitative military edge”, the United States consults with it on proposed sales of advanced arms to other countries in the region.
Israel has reiterated a need to maintain its military superiority even since forging official ties with the UAE and its fellow Gulf Arab state Bahrain under deals brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump last month.
Washington agreed to consider allowing the UAE to buy F-35 stealth jets in a side deal to a normalisation agreement between Israel and the UAE.

Welp, maybe the US will "sell" some surplus B-2's to Israel. Not sell but give. Too risky? How about 20 well maintained and equipped B-1B's instead?
I wasn't aware that Israel could tell the US who to sell weapons to. Sarcasm off. Of course they can't.
A commitment to Israel to uphold its military edge seems a little silly. The US would first need to acquire a known military edge over its chief competitors before it could think about maintaining such an edge. At that point perhaps it could make such a commitment to another country. Such a commitment to another country to uphold its military edge by the US is rather silly right now.

Poster I don't think these countries are united in wanting to overcome Israel these days nor in the future. Shiite Iran and a couple of others are the bad guys in the area now.
Getting rid of the moo-lahs in government in Iran would reduce much tension in the area. The paleostinians are has beens as has the idea of arming them with weapons and funding. Hezbolla bumbles along in an increasingly unfavorable situation as the government in power in Lebanon. They and their "struggle" are, I think, yesterday's news with the pressures brought onto their heads by the evil Trump administration and their own reversion to criminality to financially survive. Now that obamma is no longer in office and flying money to their paymaster Iran they are not so able to pull of their old stunts.
