Israeli Minister Warns That Israel Could Attack Iran’s Nuclear Program If The U.S. Rejoins The Nuclear Deal As Indicated By Soon-To-Be President Biden

Settlement Affairs Minister Tzachi Hanegbi in Gush Etzion in the West Bank, December 24, 2020 (Gershon Elinson/Flash90)

Tzachi Hanegbi says Israel does not expect Trump to take final dramatic action; cautions against American ‘weakness’ and repeating ‘Obama mistakes’

Likud ministers on Wednesday refrained from confirming whether Israel was behind a raid in Syria overnight, but said the incoming US administration must not “appease” Iran, and warned Tehran the Jewish state will not tolerate its military presence in Syria or its development of nuclear weapons.

In one of the most forceful statements made by an Israeli official, the Likud’s Tzachi Hanegbi, considered an ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, threatened that Israel could attack Iran’s nuclear program if the United States rejoined the nuclear deal, as US President-elect Joe Biden has indicated he plans to do.

WNU Editor: The Israeli government is preparing itself in the hope that they will be involved in any US discussions when it comes to an Iranian nuclear deal .... Netanyahu said forming team for talks with Biden on Iranian nuclear program (Times of Israel).

If history is any indication. I would tell the Israelis to not bet on it.

And threatening the incoming Biden administration that they would attack Iran's nuclear program is not going to help their cause either.

Is Israel has any other choice?

It's not just Israel who is an advocate of strikes on Iran if they continue build their nuclear program. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain have a dog in this fight.

It is doubtful that Israel didn't conference with these states - all recent signatories with Israel in peace deals - prior to the statement to the Biden Admin.

It would be an idiotic move on Biden's part to reinstate the insane Iran Nuclear Deal. Unless his goal is to instigate a major regional war.

Which it might be.

Russ,

I don't think he wants to instigate a major war. There'd be major blowback against America. We'd face it from all sides. Israel and the Arab states would not be happy with us. Iran, as it is going down, may want to lash out and they no doubt already have the military forces in the US to do enormous damage.

Regarding the coming attack on Iran's nuclear program I've been predicting it would happen since 1/1/08. I patiently explained this to family and friends that we didn't need to worry about it. Israel would handle the problem and the best approach for America would be to get out of Israel's way.

How I think it will go down is Israel will do the deed, fully accomplish the mission, and be back home before US Intelligence even knows what happened. The US government can't be involved on any level as pro-Iranian sources in our government would instantly warn the Iranian leadership undermining the success of the mission. This was a problem in 2008 and is likely an even bigger problem now.

Poster, I'm inclined to agree. I don't think biden is the man, nor his cabinet so far, to do much more than blow smoke should Israel hit Iran.

The world will soon miss Trump. Especially when the ISIS and Al Queda bombs start exploding and the Right Wing really gets energized in the west, bringing out BLM and Antifa fascisits.

If Beto starts going for guns what happened in DC will be a kids story for the good old days. Read the Turner Diaries, these folks believe that stuff.
