Taipei's Zhongzheng and Zhongshan districts would be heavily bombarded in first wave

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Amid China's show of force last weekend featuring eight bombers and reports that this is a "dress rehearsal" for war, China affairs analyst Ian Easton has provided a list of the major potential Taiwan targets of Chinese warplanes in the event of an attack, including in the heart of Taipei.

On Saturday (Jan. 23), the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) flew 13 planes over Taiwan's air identification defense zone (ADIZ), including one Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft, four J-16 fighter jets, and eight Xian H-6K bombers. This was followed the next day by an intrusion into the ADIZ by 15 military aircraft, including two Y-8 anti-submarine planes, two SU-30 fighter jets, six J-10 jet fighters, four J-16s, and one Y-8 reconnaissance plane.

On Tuesday (Jan. 26), Forbes cited Bernard Cole, a professor at the National War College in Washington, D.C., as asserting that the sorties represented a "dress rehearsal" for a future assault on Taiwan. “It does demonstrate the PLAAF’s ability to put together a multi-plane strike, which we would likely see in the event of a hot war against Taiwan,” said Cole.

WNU Editor: To put it bluntly. In the event of war China will be throwing everything at Taiwan.

Chinese would take massive losses if they try to take Taiwan, they may take it but it will be bloody. Financially they would be crushed, IMO the Chinese are a paper tiger.

Where would we get out aspirin, iphones, and other medicines and electronics?

What electronics we do not get from China, we get from Taiwan.

Let us put it this way.

For oil Iraq taking Kuwait is like for electronics China taking Taiwan.

The DoD has a lot of problems purchasing counterfeit electronics from China. There are 3 problems, espionage, not fit for use, and logistics increase of war.

How will the US military fight without electronic replacement parts? We're going to send the 2nd MEU to Wuhan to watch over Chinese workers so electronics from those factories to the 1st MEU, so their equipment is up, so it can invade China?

Have you drafted an OP for the 2nd MEU, so it can take Wuhan?

I hope you do, because we really need those circuit boards.

For the still flying B-52's I have a fair sized collection of vacuum tubes for these fossils so they can be called upon should the need arise. The more modern gear I can't help.

Is China expecting no reaction of America after being severed of electronics? This major threat could lead to an ultimate use of what American's force has left.
