Julian Assange cannot be extradited to the US to face spying charges due to the risk of him taking his own life in an American jail, a judge sensationally ruled today - raising the prospect he could be freed this week.
The WikiLeaks founder won his high-profile legal battle against US officials who wanted to put him on trial for conspiring to hack government computers and violating an espionage law by releasing confidential cables.
The 48-year-old, sat in a blue suit with crossed legs, wiped his brow after the decision was announced, while his fiancee, Stella Moris - with whom he has two young sons - wept.

UK judge basically gave the US the finger.
I hope Trump pardons him and Snowden on Inauguration Day. I want to see the Democrats, Never Trumpers and the Deep State (basically all of them) heads explode into insanity. It'll distract from the Bidens Inauguration big time.
As crooked as some people in our government can be I applaud the judge. They need exposing.
I believe that Assange is a self-righteous idiot and has been a Russian stooge. All that does not mean that he has not on occasion spoken the truth.
4 or 5 years ago there were observations that Wikileaks never leaked Chinese or Russian stuff. Shortly thereafter Wikileaks got their hands on some Russian stuff. It was a one-off. I have a very dim view of Julian.
That said, I believe Seth Rich gave him information and Seth was murdered. Former or current Russian stooge or not Assange has exposed lawlessness among the Democrat party and they are more of a clear and present danger than the Chinese or Russians.
In short I hope Trump Pardons Assange. See if the Democrats want to damage trade and relations with the EU by kidnapping Assange.
Democrats have gone 1 or 2 orders of magnitude in vote theft than I ever thought they would. They are 3 orders of magnitude of what I thought their average level was. There is a no way a Democracy survives that for long.
