Republican senators are wrestling over what they want their party’s future relationship with Donald Trump to be after he leaves office on Wednesday.
Faced with a deeply divided Senate Republican Conference, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is giving his colleagues free rein to vote their conscience when the Senate tries Trump on charges that he incited an insurrection.
McConnell is telling colleagues that he himself hasn’t decided whether to vote to convict Trump on a House-passed article of impeachment and associates describe the GOP leader “as furious” over that attack on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.

Not 1/3, not close to that. I think in excess of 50% will give the finger to the GOP and fund raising will suffer similar drops.
The party will cease to be a national party and will be nothing more than regional.

People are already fed up with Republicans for stabbing him and his voters in the back while the country is burned to the ground by radical libs. If they purge him, while his supporters are also being purged and deplatformed left and right, I expect a series of assassinations taking place

Cindy McCain and Romney are known to have petitioned for jobs in the Trump administration. He turned them down. So when they criticize him it looks like the sour grapes of plutocrats whinging.
I am already going to call up my Congress persons office after their politician mommy went on the record criticizing Trump after the 6th to give the scion cover. My phone call would be that I would vote Republican except for House of Representatives.
Maybe McConnel should be kick himself out the Republican party for being a punching bag and letting himself be bullied out of restaurants and laid down and did noting for 6 months to a year over the bogus special counsel investigation.
If Trump is kicked out, I am leaving the Republican party.
