Myanmar's de facto leader
Aung San Suu Kyi is reportedly 'feeling well' after she was arrested in dawn raids along with other MPs as the country's military staged a coup against the government.
Suu Kyi and President Win Myint were arrested early Monday, just hours before their newly-elected government was due to be sworn in, as tanks, soldiers and helicopters were deployed around the capital Naypyitaw.
The generals struck amid fears that Suu Kyi would use her new mandate - which saw her humiliate military-backed parties by getting 83 per cent of votes in an election held last year - to reform the constitution and remove their strangle-hold on power.

I would look for the hand of China in this case, regardless though it's obvious the generals either could not nor would not read the writing on the wall.
Simply stated the "Rule of Ten" or "one to ten" is that the discrimination (resolution) of the measuring instrument should divide the tolerance of the characteristic to be measured into ten parts. In other words, the gage or measuring instrument should be 10 times as accurate as the characteristic to be measured.
Be careful what you wish for.
In the U.S. there are a lot of people that do not practice 10 to1
Dems Falsely Call Capitol Riot a "Coup", Won't Call Burma Coup a "Coup"
Dems are liars to the core.
Dips and politicians must be careful with language for a 3rd world country.
But they can tell any lie to the people of their country.
Addendum #1: Maybe the dips & pols do not care what they call the civil or military Burmese officials. Maybe all they care about is the law. If they do not call it a coup, foreign aid flows and they get their foreign aid kick back to spend in the Acela corridor.
How much pull does the US have compared to China. Burma is adjacent to China. By Cold War math that makes it in China's sphere of influence. I do not agree with that math, but dips & pols take it quite seriously.
1) Myanmar ports are on China's string of pearls.
2) Shan State is quasi-controlled by China. Brennan, the great inquisitor, could not get a person into Shan state. but he can spy on any American 24/7, so there is that.
3) American foreign policy is inchoate. They will pretend to be daddy big bucks and feel they can criticize the Rohingya situation. The US does not have enough foreign aid now and never had enough to give or throw to Burma. Otherwise, they would have already.
If the US got as tough as they could be, Burma would just turn to China. The US does not have enough money or soldiers to affect the outcome in Burma. So why complain about the Rohingya? The State Department is asking Burma to treat the Rohingya terrorists better than the Democrats treat the American people at Capitol hill. The Burmese have taken hundreds more casualties than the Capitol Police ever did. One Policeman might have died at the hand of rioters, maybe. There is no video, which is odd and the news has not said anyone has been charged. Occasionally we here that he was hit with a fire extinguisher. Do not know.
4) Burma has a nuke program. Maybe Obama should send them pallets of unmarked bills, too?
