China's top general has called for increased military spending to prepare for a war with the United States.
General Xu Qilian, who is second in command of the country's armed forces after President Xi, said China needs to ready itself for the 'Thucydides Trap'.
The term refers to the inevitability of war when a new global power displaces an existing one.

I think after Trump's growing economy some think tank ghoul made the suggestion to use covid19 and the subduing by masks to escape Thucydides trap by changing the equation from two strong comepting rivals to one subdued rival and the other intact
Trump ran on America first and an American independence of Chinese manufacturing (see pharmaceuticals, steel, electronics, G5 and energy examples).
When you have two clashing nations and America was suddenly growing much faster under trump so that in summer 2019 the US GDP was nearly twice the size of China...
If you want to reduce the likelihood of Thucydides trap, independence is not what you want. You want dependence, in trade especially.
Globalists think towards a global government and global economic system, which is an admirable goal. Likely misled (as big government is typically included 6 in big crime including big crime against humanity incl mass murder, ethnic cleansing and other things we all are too familiar with)...but admirable ..we all want a global family. But not necessarily top down dictated.
Either way.. point being is that covid19 heavily reversed the independence of China towards a new dependence. In fact, Biden is working hard to make the US dependent on energy imports again and you know what that means for your soldiers and other nations. But I guess the globalists know better.. after all.. big government means big big corruption and free money for them.. and power.. truth ministries and all that... likely run on a supranational level where the elite buy truth... so you see Bill Gates who owns Newsguard, which is the stepping stone to a corporate/ government fascist authoritarian system, truth ministry,.. he is really upset about all that talk of him and Epstein and Lolita island and he also doesn't like that talk about him killing tens of thousands in African nations due to vaccine experiments/ human experiments gone wrong.
