EU Imposes Sanctions On Four Chinese Officials Over Xinjiang Abuses

The European Union has agreed to sanction China for human rights abuses against the Uyghurs in the country's northwestern Xinjiang province.

The European Union agreed on Monday to sanction China for human rights abuses against the Uyghurs at a foreign ministers meeting Monday in Brussels.

Four regional and party representatives, as well as a construction firm from Xinjiang province, were added to the EU sanctions list, with their names published in the EU Official Journal.

WNU Editor: Only four officials and the Xinjiang Public Security Bureau (PSB) are sanctioned. These sanctions are a joke. The Chinese leadership who are responsible for what is happening in Xinjiang province are being left alone.

Sanctioning government officials came to the fore during Russia's adventurism into the Donbas region and the Russian take over of Crimea. which all happened during the Obama administration.

It was a way of trying to get results without a country on country sanctions.

It sounded good. Fine, whatever. It failed!

Time to move on and go back to the previous way of country on country sanction. But they won't. They lack guts. They like American politicians do not deserve to rule/govern.

Oh and it didn't work like Hillary, Blinken sand those other idiots at the State department thought.

The US had sanctions against individuals, the Russians retaliated with much broader bans against US industry.
