Members of the Michigan National Guard complain they have been forced to eat raw chicken, moldy bread and meals containing metal shavings while they remain on guard in Washington DC protecting the US Capitol from attack.
More than a dozen soldiers on deployment have become ill - with some serious enough to be hospitalized - after reportedly being given undercooked and contaminated food.
Soldiers have blown the whistle on the sub-par food supplied by to troops stationed in DC by a National Guard contractor. They shared photos of pink chicken, uncooked beef and moldy food with lawmakers and online while one staff sergeant revealed dozens of meals had to be thrown out when metal shavings were found inside dishes.
A group of bipartisan lawmakers are now demanding a new food vendor is brought in, or for troops to be given a daily allowance to buy their own food. Some are calling for guard members to be sent home altogether.

I can't wrap my mind around mental shavings. I may not have enough experience. I do have experience inspecting kitchens. I can see raw beef, raw chicken and mouldy bread. I can put that down to poor supervision, low wage employees not caring, contractors in over their heads, poor training or any number of causes. I just cannot credit metal shaving in food other than to sabotage and desire to harm people.
a machine in a factory processing meat or vegetables might wear, get off center and shaving or particles come off it. But I also see that once it is off center it get progressively worse, noticed, replaced and product recalled. So I don't think that it is the problem.
Being military provided rations an officer should be taste testing the meals daily. Why is this not happening? I recommend the Yogananda Pittman or Nancy Pelosi taste test the meals as a way of improving morale. The meals would be improved in no time.
The Army could send quartermaster battalion to DC to feed the troops. It would keep it all in house without sweetheart deals. The QM Battalions would have real life OJT. TWO-fer.
Just remember the troops will blame TPTB. Waray will have to pull Agents from following Russian agents in NYC and send them all to Michigan if this keeps up.
