Brazil’s rampant coronavirus outbreak has become a global threat that risks spawning new and even more lethal variants, one of the South American country’s top scientists has warned as it suffered its deadliest day of the pandemic.
Speaking to the Guardian, Miguel Nicolelis, a Duke University neuroscientist who is tracking the crisis, urged the international community to challenge the Brazilian government over its failure to contain an epidemic that has killed more than a quarter of a million Brazilians – about 10% of the global total.

Brasil is a large country in land mass, GDP (BRIC country) and population.
1,641 is a big scary number worthy of a Dogbert argument.

Okay, it is not round, but 1,641 is BIIIG!
Brasil has 210 million people or 2/3rd of what the US has. So is 1,641 deaths all that BIIIG, when compared to the US or other nations?
I use to live right off of Rodeira Margarida da Graça Martins on a chacara that is now Night Show Cafe. Night Show is is 22 houses down form the Chacara Show Bar which was and and apparently still is a cathouse. Night Show might be a cathouse also. The name sounds suggestive.
I hardly recognize the place. It is growing like gangbusters. I only recognize 4 landmarks along that stretch of road. Everything else is built over. Piracicaba is one of the places they ship American jobs. Campinas is also such a place. TI was there. If the Global Warming Nuts like Horse Faced John Kerry keep it up, it is where I am moving.
What is really scary is look at Brasil from space and seeing all the reservoirs. They simply were not there a few decades ago. The map is unrecognizable to me. There is a lot of hydro power. They also are big into gasohol or alcohol for transportation. Brasil is growing unlike the US under Obama/Harris.
Brasil will come out just fine.
The death statistics are a lie. We all know that.
