The Taliban could make rapid military gains across Afghanistan when American and Nato troops pull out, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has warned.
Under a deal between the Taliban and the previous Trump administration, all remaining US forces are due to leave the country by the end of next month.
But in a letter to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Mr Blinken has warned of a possible new "spring offensive".
US soldiers invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to remove the Taliban from power.
The American military operation was in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

This is why Blinken wants to get out.
The ISI and Taliban will make us pay if we do not get out. Maybe the Afghan security forces are leaving checkpoints and bases, because they do not want to get in between the Taliban and their intended targets (US soldiers).
IF we leave Pakistan will get Afghanistan. The Taliban will be their semi dependent allies. At worst China gets it and we are that much closer to war.
If we don't leave and there is a general war, those soldiers in Afghanistan are FUCKED! China wants their road and let to go to Iran and Afghanistan sits astride that path a more northernly route could still be interdicted or threatened from Afghanistan. China does not have to pay the Pakistan,. China just has to have some development deals with Pakistan and not charge usury like they usually do.
Pakistan is nota US ally, So any troops in Afghanistan are between a rock (Pakistan) and a hard place (China) without supplies. The US really needs Russia in case of war with China.
Afghanistan is a loosing place. Let other to be bothered.
