China Boasts That Fighter Jets Piloted By Artificial Intelligence Are Routinely Defeating Pilots In Dogfights

China is using fighter jets flown by AI in training missions and claims they are now capable of defeating human pilots (file image, a Chinese) J-20 stealth fighter

Daily Mail: China's AI fighter pilots are 'better than humans' and have DEFEATED them in test flights

* Chinese fighter pilots are being pitted against plane flown by AI in training

* Renowned pilot Fang Guoyu was recently 'shot down' by one of the computers

* Fang said the plane used his own tactics against him, adding that he is not the only flying ace to have been defeated by the machines

* It is thought AI will eventually be used to aid human pilots during combat

Chinese fighter jets piloted by artificial intelligence are becoming better than humans and routinely defeat pilots in dogfights, the country's military has claimed. Fang Guoyu, a pilot and aerial combat champion, was recently 'shot down' by one of the craft during a simulated dogfight, according to state-run media.

'This is not the first time the renowned Fang was shot down by the AI, and Fang is not the only ace the AI has defeated,' the military-run PLA Daily reported.

To be expected, happening in the US as well is it not? Only difference is, the Chinese pilot's weren't great to start with!

With a diminishing returns learning curve being ahead for the last 5, 6, 7 or pick a number decades does not mean a damn thing other than to maybe give one a false sense of security.

By the time of Kasserine Pass the US had been at war for 2 years and the Germans for 4. Who learned more?

By 1942 the Japanese had been at war for 5 years and the US for 1 year. During that year and the next two the course of the war we had Midway the Attrition of the Solomons, and the Marianas Turkey Shoot.

In a shooting war with China we could go through all the best pilots on either side. So what will experience mean? People die, retire, get rusty or otherwise move on. You have to institutionalize experience. Is the US doing a good job? IMO the Democrats are doing a great job of institutionalizing racism in the military and the rest of the nation, but not much else.
