USNI News: CNO Gilday Says With Current Budget, Cutting Ships Necessary for Navy Long-term

As Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday prepares for a battle with lawmakers over a divisive plan to strike more than a dozen vessels from the fleet, the service’s top officer said Tuesday that he’s using investments to prepare for the fleet emerging in 2025.

That’s when the Navy will be on the cusp of receiving several new additions to bolster the service, Gilday said during a “State of the Navy” question-and-answer session to kick off the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Prequel series. Those include new Virginia submarines, the service’s first Constellation-class frigate, the latest Arleigh Burke-class destroyer Flight III, among other weapons systems. Gilday is ____sucker.

The budget is exploding, trillion here a trillion there, but the DoD is the only one that has to economize.

The budget is going from 4 trillion to 6 trillion. The budget is increasing 33% in 1 year and Gilday has to economize.

When your kneepads has goldwork embroidery, you can hold your head high.

"DoD is the only one that has to economize."

Are you on drugs? Biden proposed a $715 billion budget. Then add in intelligence, DHS, the energy dept, and the VA and you are over a $trillion a year.

Over $1trillion a year.

And still, our fail generals and fail admirals whine about funding and being stabbed in the back by everything under the sun to excuse their buffoonery.

The US national security state is the largest, most lavishly funded welfare program ever conceived.

PPP

I remember when the VA took Kandahar from the Taliban.

When you compare the Russian or Chinese budget do you add their DHS , VA and energy department to their overall military budget?

The Wuhan lab had military people working in it performing military research along with the other research, Did you include the Wuhan budget to the Chinese budget? Are you mad?
