Japan is 'digging its own grave' by offering to defend Taiwan from China alongside the US, Beijing has warned.
The country is 'powerless' against the Chinese military and would never engage over Taiwan without US support, according to an opinion column in the Global Times.
The article added a claim that Japan would become a legitimate target and face retaliation if its military crosses China's 'red lines'.

I think China is busily digging its own grave with its 24/7, 365 non-stop belligerence, thievery, plagues, pollution, filth and general global asshole-ishness. I haven't seen (or studied) a nation so strident, arrogant and alone in the world since Nazi Germany. Everyone on earth is getting around to hating their fucking Chinese Communist guts. And the Chins have no strategy for this except for more bluster.
The sooner coherent populations collectively wake up to the fact that China and its government are a blight on planet earth, the better. And then deal with them as harshly as their super-mega-rich, pampered Western beneficiaries.
(I'm looking at you NBA, google, Nike, twitter, Universal, Berkshire Hathaway, etc...)

I see no difference between the above MNC's and companies and individuals who collaborated with the Nazis 81 years ago. If you accept China's version of communistic profit-oligarchy and call it "capitalism", you are misguided.

I see you're trying to make a point but actually that's exactly how it works
There is no where in this world unregulated or unchecked capitalism.
Why?
Because if you read up the definition of capitalism and money you see they're instruments and bare minimum frameworks for exchange. Void of any morality.
Every nation then imposes their own version of capitalism.
In Germany you have social capitalism
In the USA you have social capitalism
In China you have a more state driven form of social capitalism
But all forms are forms of one form or another of capitalism. Different flavours of socialism (the west) and communism(the east, typically)
Socialism takes taxes throug capitalism for social programs like building bridges, public infrastructure, public healthcare and a public army
So yeah. You were wrong but I get what you're trying to say, you wanted to tell Russ he/she doesn't get to pick and choose and on the individual that's correct but as a nation or state you do get to pick your flavour of capitalism.
When California shut down business it almost bankrupted its already broke state. They got a bailout from the government despite their failed and costly business practices. That's a form of social capitalism too. The others paid for California in the billions. Now California has a net balance that's not negative. Hooray. The downside is the deficit is increasing and communism is spreading because the people in charge of California, Newsom and his relative Pelosi are robbing you blind and were hurting small business in favour of big business buddies.
big business hands out big bucks for lobbies and for elections...that too is what capitalism is all about
Biden, even as I type this, is addressing the issue of breaking up the huge outfits that crush the competition, set prices, and control things, as some years ago Teddy R. also noted and acted upon
