President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden left Friday afternoon from Delaware for a weekend at Camp David, as the president's planned withdrawal from Afghanistan is becoming a crisis.
Taliban fighters are closing in on Kabul, while American reinforcements are expected to arrive in the country, which was supposed to see the U.S. gone by August 31.
As the Bidens were departing from Delaware Air National Guard, the White House sent out a statement saying the president had been briefed about 'the ongoing efforts to safely drawdown the civilian footprint in Afghanistan.'

WNU Editor: He will need to address the American people with the imminent collapse of the Afghan government now in sight.

Going to Camp David is better optics than going to Delaware. Either place has all the electronics he needs, but he could meet more people in Camp David face to face. Not sure why Sec Def or the generals would need to meet with a sock puppet.
"He will need to address the American people...." No he doesn't. I'm pretty sure once they get their talking points down it's Trump's fault. Team members can deliver that message just as well as the president can. Besides world leaders who matter know that the fault primarily is with the Afghans themselves. As such, I wouldn't expect to see much change in our foreign policy.
How many times has Trump played golf as President of the United States? Since taking office on Jan. 20, 2017, Mr. Trump has reportedly been on the grounds of his golf courses or played golf elsewhere 308 times since becoming President, and that's as of Dec. 30, 2020.
The cost of Trump's golf rounds to the American taxpayer varies by round and course, but it has totaled so far in the tens of millions of dollars. The Secret Service has spent at least $550,000 in third-party golf cart rentals and over $500,000 to stay overnight at Trump-owned properties, including his New Jersey country club.
He previously was on pace to visit his golf clubs more than 650 times in an eight-year presidency. However, his pace as of Aug. 6, 2018 now indicates Trump would spend as much as 745 days of his presidency at a golf course if he wins a second term and serves both terms to completion.
