The next diplomatic move on Afghanistan may well occur at the United Nations, where the Taliban is still designated a terror organization. But is it?
Over the weekend the UN humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths, flew to Kabul for meetings with Taliban leaders, including the group’s political honcho, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.
None of his interlocutors asked him to remove the Taliban from the UN Security Council’s terror list, Mr. Griffiths told me, adding that Afghanistan isn’t the only place where UN humanitarian activity happens despite such listing.

WNU Editor: The UN is going to ignore putting forward a resolution repealing the Taliban's status as a terrorist organization. They will deal with Afghanistan by ignoring this resolution. But in the event someone does put forward a resolution repealing the Taliban's status as a terrorist organization, I expect the U.s. will abstain.
Update: We shall see .... Jen Psaki says Biden 'won't rush' to recognize new 'moderate' Taliban government that includes a wanted terrorist with a $10M US bounty, four members of the 'Guantanamo Five' and no women (Daily Mail).

Is Jen Psaki the secret grandchild of Goebbels? Some members of the Taliban have said today Afghanistan and tomorrow the world. What part of that does the Mouth of the DNC not understand?
I’ve learned of an al Qaeda document, authored by Ayman al-Zawahiri (Number 2 under Bin Laden), that blows the mind. It spells out the seven-phase plan for world domination which is taking place as we quibble about smallness.
