NATO is prepared to 'reinforce' defenses in Eastern Europe Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday warned Russia that the U.S. will use "high impact" economic tactics to bar aggressive action taken against Ukraine.
"We've made it clear to the Kremlin that we will [act] resolutely, including with a range of high impact economic measures that we’ve refrained from using in the past," Blinken said speaking from Latvia.
"We are prepared to impose severe costs for further Russian aggression in Ukraine. NATO is prepared to reinforce its defenses on the eastern flank," he added.

With Biden's poll numbers, it is fairly obvious he needs a major distraction and COVID theater isn't cutting it anymore so looks like we're gonna end up with some war games to distract from his awful Presidency. Ironically, getting into a war with Russia will make his Presidency even worse.

Biden's number are up 3 points in the RCPP average over the last week. It might just be fluctuation.
It might be they are show casing Joe a lot for short clips reading prepared remarks. Anything else invites disaster. The students that met Joe in Minnesota were fake. But the important thing is they have him out there a plot, but again for short stretches.

I believe in part, the uptick is because of the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Holiday stretch. People are focused on family not the effects of policies. That along with the the normal social pressure exerted by the media, they will try to flip his numbers.
It worked with Obama between December and March one year. There was no event you could identify. There were no policies that changed, which were working for the good. His numbers just magically floated up around mid December 2015. Maybe people survived a sigh of relief that Obama was in his last year as president and they had somehow survived his shitcanery.

Anthony Blinkin has been a long time advisor to Joe Biden on foreign affairs.
Former Sec of Defense Gates once said of Biden, to paraphrase, Biden has been wrong on every major foreign policy issue during his entire career.
Same goes for Blinkin, his decades long advisor.
I have no illusions about Putin, but I have real doubts Blinkin and Biden have read him correctly about Ukraine. A nation that funneled bribes to son Hunter, which of course ended up in Joe Biden's pocket.
