China's Birth Rate Falls For A Fifth Consecutive Year To Its Lowest Level In Six Decades

 

Daily Mail: China's birth rate plummets for a fifth consecutive year to its lowest level in decades with fewer born in 2021 than during Mao-era famine as country faces demographic crisis 

* Only 10.6m babies were born in 2021 in China in the population of 1.413bn 

* It is the lowest level recorded in the Communist nation since its founding in 1949 

* The population increased by 480,000, the lowest since Mao's Great Famine China's birth rate has fallen again for the fifth consecutive year with fewer babies born in 2021 than during the Great Famine under Chairman Mao. 

Only 10.6million babies were born last year in the population of more than 1.413billion, down 12 per cent on the 12million born in 2020. 

It is the lowest level recorded in the Communist nation since its founding in 1949.
